Warhammer 40.000: Eternal Crusade: Hands On with the Pre-Alpha Posted: 05 Sep 2014 04:38 PM PDT Redefining "Massive" in a 3rd-person Combat RPG is Behaviour Interactive Studio Head of the online games Miguel Caron's drum beat. Building a world set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe; making it an open persistent planet that's officially part of the lore (Arkhona) which can support over a 1000 players in a single battle... this is what Eternal Crusade plans to bring to us in late 2015. |

ArcheAge: Why the Labor System is Good Posted: 05 Sep 2014 01:25 PM PDT This isn't going to make me popular, but I'm going to come out and say it just like Maccarthur says on our forums, I actually kind of like the labor point system. Before the pitchforks come out and people start claiming I'm pro "Pay 2 Win", let me explain. While I think there could be some improvements to the system, I'm also fairly confident in my belief that the Labor system is better for the overall health of the economy and the game XLGAMES wants us to play. |
Posted: 03 Sep 2014 05:17 PM PDT Games like Mario Kart, which remained mostly about just getting out there on super fun tracks, and games that took on a more realistic approach and went the way of tons of DLC and unlockables. I've mostly found myself playing Mario Kart as my racer of choice, but when Ubisoft unveiled The Crew, I met the announcement with interest. An MMORPG and racing game? In one? How would that work? |
WildStar: A Game of Character, A Game of Characters Posted: 03 Sep 2014 05:11 PM PDT There are a lot of great things that can be said about WildStar. Carbine Studios' flagship MMORPG is funny, polished, unique, and fun to play. There's a staggering amount of content available to play for both factions, and a cohesive story that mostly pulls it all together. It's extremely easy on the eyes, and offers some interesting developments in its handling of gameplay systems and combat. |

Dead Island 2: Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire Posted: 03 Sep 2014 05:06 PM PDT The success of the original Dead Island has led to a number of spinoff games, even including a MOBA, and there are no signs this trend will slow down. At this year's PAX Prime, we had a chance to check out one such spin off, Escape Dead Island, as well as the current gen sequel to the original game, Dead Island 2. |
Moonrise: A Mobile Multiplayer Creature-Collection RPG Posted: 04 Sep 2014 04:58 PM PDT Anyone who carries a Mobile Device and loves gaming is always on the lookout for something that can can give you a quick fix or keep you engaged for hours. I recently got an opportunity to visit Undead Labs and check out Moonrise, a real-time combat RPG that really made the obsessive compulsive gamer collector in me get excited. You could equate it to a Pokémon MMO with a few twists. |
