Mythos Gameplay – First Look HD

Posted: 28 May 2011 11:45 AM PDT

To Learn More about the game check out ourMythos Page.

Mythos is a 3D fantasy MMORPG published by Frogster – the same company behind Runes of Magic. Mythos was developed by many of the same people who worked on Diablo 2, which is why the two games are remarkably similar. Like Battle of the Immortals from Perfect World Entertainment, Mythos has the whole “Diablo 2″ action-rpg feel to it. Like Fortune Online and other action MMORPGs, Mythos is trying to recreate the fun of D2. Those who enjoyed Diablo 2, should definitely give Mythos a try. To learn more about Mythos, check out the official MMOHut Mythos page which includes a detailed review, tons of screenshots, and additional videos.

Daily quests coming to Mythos

Posted: 27 May 2011 12:19 PM PDT

Mythos is adding daily quests this June for all players level 15 or above.

The daily quests will be available in the major hubs, off special black Quest Boards. These boards will offer three quests that can be done on a daily basis. Quests include beating bosses, hunting down specific items, and other treasure hunting challenges. Daily quests also become more difficult the higher level the player is. Rewards from daily quests include a 60 minute double experience buff, as well as the ability to earn more money from completed quests.

Mythos is currently published by Frogster, which also publishes Runes of Magic.

Give Us This Day Our Daily…

…Quest! Coming to MYTHOS in June.

Soon enough there will be even more reasons for level hunters in MYTHOS to get excited about dungeon crawling. Frogster is planning to make Daily Quests available to all players at level 15 or higher starting in June. In each of the most important centres in Uld, players will be able to find a special black Quest Board offering three different quests which can be repeated daily.

On their own or in groups, hack'n'slashers longing for experience points can take on the various level-appropriate challenges. Depending on their idea of a good time, players can teach nasty boss monsters the meaning of fear, shake them down to get certain items, or go on a good old-fashioned treasure hunt. Not wanting to make things too easy though, the difficulty of the Daily Quests rises as they level up ensuring players will always face a challenge!

Daily Quests are far more than just an exciting way to pass the time. Take the bonuses, for example: if a player completes all three Daily Quests on a given day, they get to enjoy a 60-minute frenzy in which they score double experience points from killing monsters as well as significantly more in-game currency for each successfully completed quest.
There's also a contest in partnership with paysafecard going on right now – we're giving away scores of these handy little cards.

Alter-Ego: Update 3 and more in store

Good things are on the horizon in DC Universe Online, heroes, and villains! After having the chance to sit in on a roundtable discussion with Jens Andersen, Mark Anderson, and Lorin Jameson on Thursday, I am confident that the team in charge of the game's development is taking a good hard look at all the feedback it's been receiving from players. Aside from getting a chance to hear more about the soon-to-be-released Update 3, we were able to get a handful of answers for some burning questions that players have been asking about recently -- and some screenshots in the gallery below to give you a sneak peek!

Additionally, we managed to get a hint of things to come, as we're certain anyone who was watching Thursday night's DC Universe Online stickam chat noticed. For those who didn't make it, don't worry -- I'll be running down several interesting points from that event too since it meshes well with the roundtable discussion. All you have to do to get the super-scoop is join me behind the break!

WRUP: He has the power to rear-project major cities edition

Posted: 28 May 2011 08:00 AM PDT

Alas, Mystery Science Theater 3000, you were too beautiful for this world. Also far too expensive, which is what killed you. (Pretty much all of the show's budget went to licensing terrible, terrible films, which seems odd as they're sort of thing that would seem cheap.) Sure, there's the occasional clunker like Catalina Caper or Hamlet, but then you get Red Zone Cuba or Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders or Girl in Gold Boots. And you can get an awful lot of the episodes on Netflix streaming. I'm just saying.

Unlike the source material used for MST3K, this installment of WRUP does not feature horrible technical glitches, failed special effects, or glaring problems to indicate that the producers just don't care. Instead, it features the Massively staff talking about what its members will be up to over the weekend and their favorite MMO combat abilities. So click on past the break to check that out, let us know your own plans in the comments, and repeat to yourself that it's just a Saturday feature and you should really just relax.

The Daily Grind: Do you play specialist or generalist characters?

Posted: 28 May 2011 06:00 AM PDT

Myself, I'm a jack-of-all-trades type of player. If there's a class, profession or build out there that allows me to do a wide variety of things OK, then you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be playing it. Sure, I never hit the top of the DPS or healing charts, but the freedom of choice that generalist builds allow me more than makes up for it.

Classes are easy to define as either "specialist" or "generalist" if you're painting with a broad brush, although the truth is that many specialist classes and roles have generalist aspects, and generalist classes often can be specialized. So I think it all boils down to what you like to play and how you like to play it.

So what do you enjoy more: playing specialist or generalist characters? Would you rather do a narrow range of actions really, really well, or a wide range of actions decently but not exceptionally?

Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. We crave your opinions, so grab your caffeinated beverage of choice and chime in on today's Daily Grind!

Transformers Online (CN) - Preparing for launch

Posted: 28 May 2011 03:20 AM PDT

No, 25th May isn't the day the game launched, but officially announced. So, if you have not read my previous posts, there are actually 2 Transformers Online game in development. This particular one is from Chinese developer NetDragon and it will be a third person online shooter (MMOTPS). I read that NetDragon is kind of pissed at Hasbro for giving the rights to have 2 similar titled games being developed at the same time, but then again it is just a rumor.

Some character artwork was shown and I thought I should share them. Each faction currently has a new robot on their side, together with an unannounced one. I am sure more will be revealed as time passes by. If you are thinking of creating your own Autobot or Decepticon, be prepared to be disappointed. But otherwise, stay tuned for more info as the game prepares to launch later this year.

Dragona Taiwan - Pet system preview

Posted: 27 May 2011 11:25 AM PDT

So, the Closed Beta for Dragona Taiwan is still going on and I thought I should give it a final spin before playing too much and spoiling the fun myself when the global server comes. I will just like to touch briefly on the pet system found in the game. Dragona Taiwan's pets can only be found in the cash shop lottery boxes. If you are lucky, you might get a Pet Chest from the boxes.

Right clicking the Pet Chest, players must go through another lottery. There are 3 pets available and some comes with different number of empty skill slots. Some will want to spend money on the boxes until they get one with max 4 skill slots. I was able to get all 3, seen below. There will be costumes for them as well.

Where do the skills come from? Well, you get them from Pet Skill Chests, which can be found as a random item from the cash shop lottery boxes as well. Some skills include looting, expanding pet's inventory, ability for pet to help you sell items etc.

How do pets help players sell items? Well, with the looting skill, pets will loot for players and the items go into players' inventories. Players must manually move items into the pet's inventory and click on the sell command. It will take about 5minutes, as the pet will need to "return to town" and sell them before returning. It looks pretty cash heavy since everything is lottery based, but we shall see the prices when the global server is out.

Dragon Ball Online (TW) - Official Closed beta starts 27th May

Posted: 27 May 2011 11:22 AM PDT

Dragon Ball Online Taiwan, which I covered in my previous posts, will enter its 1st official Closed Beta phase on 27th May which is in a few days' time. New features will be the ability for characters to change into their adult forms at level 30, with the level cap at 38 this time round. However, players will get an item at level 10 and become level 33 straight once consumed. These adults forms are also considered job advancements as well, with characters able to access new skills and of course, a new class name. Super Saiyan mode?!

There will also be more Time Capsule quests, leading players back into the past and re-visiting old scenarios found in the comics and anime. Various GM events are also organized for participating players. Be sure to catch my uploaded high definition videos after the VIP Beta ends! Dragon Ball Online Taiwan also revealed it official website look, which is really, really neat~
