Rift - Fortress Sieges, Individual Loot & LFR Arrive in Hotfix

Rift has been updated with a new hotfix patch that brings some much-anticipated content into the game: Fortress Sieges, Looking for Raid and the individual loot system. Fortress Sieges allows individual players or groups up to raid size to take on Xarth's Skull zone. Individuals assist by working along the exterior walls taking on vulnerable targets. Small groups take on enemies further into the fortress while large raid groups can tackle capturing siege weaponry.

inXile Entertainment and Techland have released a new trailer to show how combat will function in the game in all its nuanced ways. Players can choose several options in any given battle opportunity -- deception, persuasion, stealth or just take the most direct route and pop 'em.

Focus Home Interactive and Cyanide Studios have sent out a new trailer for Call of Cthulhu called "Depths of Madness" that literally shows the protagonist, Detective Edward Pierce, going mad on a strange island. It features lots of dark imagery and creepy scenery.

The Ubiblog has been updated with a new post to detail the forthcoming For Honor closed beta event. From January 26th through January 29th, PC / XBox One / PlayStation 4 players can take part in the War of Factions. All participation will be recorded with players earning rewards that will be handed out on the game's launch.

Mu Legend - Second Closed Beta Event to Start February 21st

Webzen has sent word that the second closed beta event for MU Legend is primed to run from February 21st through February 28th. During CBT 2, players will be focused on assisting the development team with localization implementation in five different languages: French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish and Polish.

World of Warcraft - Blizzard Wins German Lawsuit Against Bot Maker

German site Mein-MMO.de is reporting that Blizzard has won its lawsuit agains Bossland GmbH, the maker of Honorbuddy, a bot used in World of Warcraft. Earlier court decisions that were in Bossland's favor were overturned with the decision that "distribution of bot programs for online games is anti-competitive". As yet, the full disclosure of the settlement has not been published.

Elder Scrolls Online - Homestead to Launch on February 6th on PC / Mac

PC and Mac players of Elder Scrolls Online will be able to create their own in-game paradise when the Homestead update launches on February 6th. Console players will need to wait a bit longer for the warm fires of home. Homestead will launch for PlayStation 4 and XBox One on February 21st.

- Fire Emblem Heroes Tactical RPG Headed to Mobile in February

Nintendo has announced that Fire Emblem Heroes, a mobile tactical RPG, is heading to Google Play on February 2nd and at a later date for iOS devices. Gameplay will take place on a grid with players summoning Fire Emblem heroes "throughout history" to take part in fights. Characters from Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates will be present. Players will be able to upgrade heroes and summon additional ones that can be gained from the in-app market.

Snail Games has sent out a bit more information about how Dark & Light creatures can be captured and tamed. Over forty creatures can be captured and tamed, from the familiar to the exotic. Players can locate, capture and tame boar, elk, unicorns, dragons and others that are as yet unrevealed.

Shards Online - Adventures in Alpha

If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting to enjoy Shards Online. The retro-style MMO by Citadel Studios - a tribute to classics like Ultima Online - just didn't grab me. The Diablo-esque graphical perspective, slow skill grinds and nod to player-killing just didn't sound appealing in an era of sumptuous 3D and safe theme-park rides.

Ubisoft is teasing a big reveal for The Division and the Last Stand DLC. The event will take place on Thursday, January 19th at 8:00 Pacific / 11:00 am Eastern in The Division Twitch channel.
