Great Ideas, Mediocre Execution

Lichdom: Battlemage is one hell of a cool idea from Xaviant. Remember Hexen, the first-person shooter where you played a mage instead of some gun-toting action hero? Get Ready for a High Speed Ride

I've always been a big fan of racing games. I'm terrible at them, but I love them. They allow me to play against other people competitively while not having to worry about disappointing super competitive, hardcore players who might be my teammates. So when I first heard about World of Speed I was quite excited. Unfortunately as I learned at Gamescom when I played it you are part of a team and you can let them down.

Martin Kerstein & Kate Welch Leave ArenaNet

Over the past weekend, a pair of ArenaNet team members, Martin Kerstein and Kate Welch, announced they are leaving the company in what appears to be an abrupt fashion. Both cite great times working with the Guild Wars 2 team and community. Kerstein has been instrumental in the community and will seek time to 'decompress' before looking for new opportunities. Welch worked on the game's UI and will also take time to rest and renew.
