ArcheAge: ArcheAge - Why You Questing, Bro? Posted: 21 Jul 2014 05:40 PM PDT ArcheAge is going to be a divisive game... just not for the reasons you might think. We spent some time with the first of several closed beta events for Trion's upcoming North American release of the game, and we're suitably enamored. But there's a sneaking suspicion we all have about ArcheAge: we're afraid that its underlying complexity is going to be hidden by the upfront simplicity of its questing and PVE design. |

Dragon Age: Inquisition: New Launch Date Announced Posted: 22 Jul 2014 02:18 PM PDT Dragon Age: Inquisition Executive Producer Mike Darah has posted a new blog on the official site that announces a delay for the highly anticipated RPG from Bioware. The new release dates are: November 18th for North America and November 21st for the European Union. No specific reason for the delay is revealed other than "a few extra weeks...[will make] the game you'll play all the better". |
Dark Souls II: Crown of the Sunken Shield DLC Released Posted: 22 Jul 2014 02:11 PM PDT Cross platform RPG, Dark Souls II, now has more content for players to explore and die in thanks to the release of the DLC called "Crown of the Sunken Shield". The DLC can be purchased via the PlayStation Network (available 7-23), Xbox Live Marketplace (available today), or on Steam (available 7-23). Crown of the Sunken Shield is the first in a trilogy of DLC called The Lost Crowns and that will be released monthly from now through September. |

Firefall: Endgame Spotted in Giant Titan Battles Posted: 22 Jul 2014 02:00 PM PDT As the launch date for Firefall approaches, Red 5 Studios is ready to reveal more information about the endgame. Titans will reside in their own special instances and require a team of up to twenty players to defeat. The official site has been updated with information about two of the Titans players will face off against: Kanaloa and Baneclaw. Check out the video below before heading to the Firefall site for more information. |
General: Massive World Building With UemeU Posted: 22 Jul 2014 01:48 PM PDT Sandbox games are popular among the role-playing set as evidenced by phenomena like Second Life and enjoy mass market appeal as millions of Minecraft players will attest. Fledgling developer Omnigon Games hopes to tap into that creative energy with upcoming sandboxer, UemeU. From what the team showed last week, it's clearly too soon to tell how well UemeU's avatar customization and community tools will function but otherwise, the project definitely shows promise. |

Skyforge: Talking Skyforge and F2P With Obsidian Posted: 21 Jul 2014 04:59 PM PDT Last summer, we learned that Obsidian Entertainment had been retained to help develop Skyforge. Since the studio is strongly associated with standalone RPGs, this news was interesting and at least somewhat unexpected. Following E3, where parts of the game were playable and appeared to be favorably received, I had the chance to follow up with Development Director of Culturalization Eric DeMilt about his team's role on the project. |

The Secret World: Bee Yourself Posted: 21 Jul 2014 04:39 PM PDT While doing my regular forum browse on the official forums for The Secret World I came across someone who was looking for a roleplaying group. They laid out their character concept and called it boring. But I don't think it is boring, in fact I think it could possibly be one of the most interesting ideas out there. You see, his character is himself. |
