Shroud of the Avatar: Release 3 to Feature Multiplayer Posted: 14 Feb 2014 12:33 AM PST Shroud of the Avatar backers are eagerly awaiting the game's Release 3 iteration. Set to release on February 20th, Release 3 will feature multiplayer, something the developers call a "giant leap forward in technological complexity". The client is available for download to give devs a head start by testing the servers on Friday, February 14th from 2-3 pm CST (3-4 pm EST / 12-1 pm PST). |

The road map lays out in extensive detail what the team has plans to add to the game over the Phase 1, Phase 2 and beyond. To power the announcement, the team also revealed a brand new logo and laid out the details for a huge content update called "Rise of the Reaver". Smedley discussed SOE's vision of the sandbox, and why the sandbox model of MMORPGs is looking like the way forward for the industry. It's a great look at why Everquest Next made a shift in its development cycle to become a sandbox MMORPG (or two). |
