Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn: PS4 Beta Timeline Released & New PS4 Trailer Posted: 12 Feb 2014 06:16 AM PST Square Enix has announced the beta test schedule for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's PlayStation 4 version. The Phase 1 beta testing will begin on February 22nd and continue through March 3rd. Phase 2 will begin on April 4th and run through April 7th. In addition to beta news, FFXIV's Naoki Yoshida participated in a PS4 Conversation with Creators video series where he talks about the game on console and much, much more. |
Elder Scrolls Online: How Zenimax Gambit Could Pay Off Posted: 11 Feb 2014 03:49 PM PST With the recent lift of some press NDA restrictions for The Elder Scrolls Online, there are some reactions (and reactions to the reactions) that seem to be of the mixed variety, focused upon a few points. The subscription cost has been torn apart, the future of The Elder Scrolls called into question, and the console release looked upon critically. Zenimax has a hand it's playing, and the results, if successful, could represent a new beginning of sorts in the genre. |

Defiance: Gunslinger Trials DLC Pack Announced Posted: 12 Feb 2014 05:31 AM PST Trion Worlds has announced the name and basic information of the next Defiance DLC. Called "Gunslinger Trials", the DLC will be heavily focused on the story behind Defiance and will feature a trio of story lines that will take players on a journey to answer questions such as what is Biodyne Project and who controls the Earth Republic. Trion will be revealing more of the features that will arrive with Gunslinger Trials over the coming weeks. |

Rust: Over 4,000 Accounts Banned for Cheating Posted: 12 Feb 2014 04:25 AM PST The Rust site has been updated with a new developer blog that lets players know that over four thousand game accounts have been banned for cheating. The team has developed its own anti-cheat package called CheatPunch and it has, apparently, worked quite well. Rust's alpha has been plagued with hacks and cheats since going live late last year for early access players. |

Neverwinter: New PvP Stat Incoming with Next Patch Posted: 11 Feb 2014 03:11 PM PST The Neverwinter blog has been updated with the news that a brand new patch will feature some changes to PvP, most notably a new stat called "Tenacity". Tenacity, according to Cryptic, will be a crucial stat that is attached to PvP gear and will assist players with effects caused by players including control powers, like stuns and knock backs, critical hits, and damage. |
General: State of Decay: Lifeline Announced Posted: 11 Feb 2014 02:59 PM PST Intrepid Steam users have ferreted out the name of the second State of Decay expansion. Undead Labs has confirmed that "Lifeline" is indeed the expansion's title but have revealed few other details than to say that content is nearing completion and that internal play testing will begin soon. Archeblade: It Sounded Good on Paper Posted: 09 Feb 2014 05:12 PM PST MOBA games have shown in the past to be evolving creatures. Any idea can be a good idea with the MOBA genre, it seems. Even with the market becoming inundated with titles, it will all eventually stabilize and the best ideas will prosper and evolve. Archeblade attempts to introduce a new concept, an arena where players are the deciding factor. Throwing in a third-person view and flashy visuals and the whole product sounds pretty good... on paper. |

General: Smedley: Governor an "Idiot" for Bad-Mouthing Copernicus Posted: 11 Feb 2014 07:22 AM PST According to a recent Twitter thread, Sony Online Entertainment's John Smedley has called the governor of Rhode Island an "idiot" for comments he made last December when he called 38 Studios' Project Copernicus "a lot of junk". The comments were made after the state failed to sell the IP during an auction as part of an effort to recoup $75 million dollars in public funds that was loaned to 38 Studios. |
