League of Angels: Official Release Date Arrives

Official Release Date Arrives

R2 Games has announced that League of Angels is now in full retail release after the completion of a successful open beta run that saw over 200,000 players take part. Players can expect new angels, the Marriage System, ranks and a more stable gaming experience with the official launch.

Release 3 to Feature Multiplayer

Shroud of the Avatar backers are eagerly awaiting the game's Release 3 iteration. Set to release on February 20th, Release 3 will feature multiplayer, something the developers call a "giant leap forward in technological complexity". The client is available for download to give devs a head start by testing the servers on Friday, February 14th from 2-3 pm CST (3-4 pm EST / 12-1 pm PST).

Smedley, the Sandbox, and Online Society

I was planning on writing an article relating to what I've been able to do in the game, but a recent blog post by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) president John Smedley just made me throw out my plans and focus on it. Smedley discussed SOE's vision of the sandbox, and why the sandbox model of MMORPGs is looking like the way forward for the industry.
