New World - Amazon Game Studios: The Opening Gambit Posted: 01 Oct 2016 07:00 AM PDT Following months of speculation, Amazon Game Studios has finally revealed what it's been working on for the past few years. Surprisingly, it's not a single launch title that's been announced at the Unboxing event, with three related titles sharing the stage. All of them have a strong online component, utilised in a way that's familiar to gamers. |

Earthlock: Festival of Magic - A Glorious Classic JRPG Posted: 30 Sep 2016 01:00 PM PDT Earthlock: Festival of Magic from Snowcastle Games is an absolute nostalgic joy to play. Feeling at once both reverential for classic 16-bit JRPGs and novel due to its western stylized setting and systems, Earthlock is a grand start to an RPG trilogy, and well worth the meager price of admission. Read on for our full review. |

World of Warcraft - Revenue Model Shifts in China - Now Subscription-Based Posted: 30 Sep 2016 09:55 AM PDT NetEase and Blizzard have shifted the revenue model for World of Warcraft in China. Up to the shift, Chinese players paid in hour-by-hour increments. With the launch of the Legion expansion, Chinese players are now required to pay a monthly subscription up front in order to play. NetEase brought in $37M in August compared to only $8M in July, presumably as a result of the change in revenue generation. |

They also wish Chris Metzen a happy retirement, break down Marvel Heroes' and The Division's game changing updates, discuss Fallout 4 Far Harbor and Nuka World, and Divinity: Original Sin 2. |

Old school RPGs are in the midst of a renaissance and nothing could be better. When so many games hand you a character and do their best to put you in an interactive movie, these are the games that put the RP back in RPG. Read on to discover just what these games have over their AAA counterparts. |
Pokemon Go - Niantic Going to Court in Holland For Protected Beach Access Posted: 30 Sep 2016 04:36 AM PDT Representatives of the Dutch city of The Hague are taking Niantic Labs to court on October 11th after repeated attempts to contact the company to restrict Pokemon Go from a protected location and during the hours of 11:00 pm and 7:00 am. According to city authorities, Niantic has not responded to requests from the city since mid-August so felt there was no alternative than court to settle the issue. |

Steelseries Rival 500 MMO/MOBA Gaming Mouse: A Smart Reinvention of the MMO Mouse Posted: 29 Sep 2016 01:00 PM PDT An MMO gaming mouse can be quite the intimidating thing. At first glance, the sheer amount of buttons looks unnatural, and making the transition to thumb control after years of hammering away at the keyboard is also no small feat. But ask any MMO player who's made the jump and they'll tell you how badly you've been missing out. |
Osiris: New Dawn - First Adventures on Proteus 2 Posted: 29 Sep 2016 11:00 AM PDT The first day of early access for Osiris: New Dawn has come and gone, and our Bill Murphy survived to tell the tale of his first official adventures on Proteus 2. As we wrote back in our PAX West preview, Osiris is a smaller-scale MMO where players are in the dozens per server, not hundreds (at least not yet). That said, Bill's found that going solo or on a private multiplayer server is probably your best bet for now. |
