WildStar: Heroes Evolved Update to be Deployed Today

WildStar servers will be brought down today to bring the Heroes Evolved Update into the game. Heroes Evolved brings a number of nifty improvements and features into the game including instant level 50 characters, multi-queuing, cross faction instances, Chua Warriors, Aurin Engineers, race / gender swapping, Path Master and account-wide currencies.

Runescape: Jagex Bought Out by Chinese Investors

Jagex has announced that it has been acquired by Chinese investors and that a new board of directors has been appointed. The buy out gives Jagex a new investment cycle to grow RuneScape and other related projects including mergers and other acquisitions to expand its gaming operations.

While the dubious wording of "biggest mobile game in US history", mobile gaming being a rather new phenomenon history-wise, it is nonetheless worth noting that Pokemon Go has become the biggest game ever in the United States based on average daily users counted in the millions. Pokemon Go players number in the range of 21-22M per day while 2013's Candy Crush Saga, the second largest mobile game, hovered around 20M per day.

General: $60 Mini-NES Announced PreLoaded with 30 Classics

Nintendo has announced a new 'console' based on the original Super Nintendo System. Called the "Mini-NES", the tiny console will run $60 and come packed with thirty classic Nintendo titles including The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, Super Mario Bros. 1-3 and many, many more.

Overwatch: Undocumented Changes to Hitboxes Noted

Reddit users are taking apart the latest Overwatch PTR build and have noticed several significant changes to the size of several characters' hitboxes. Most notably, it appears that Hanzo's hitbox has been reduced significantly, as have Zenyatta and Genji. In addition, players are speculating on a fairly significant change to Lucio's ultimate charge rate, though this may be more related to buffs to other healers including Zenyatta and Mercy.

Tech in Asia is reporting that the top iOS App Store game in China is something called City Spirit Go, a Pokemon Go knock off. There is no augmented reality component included but it is location-based with various stops during the hunt that reward items.

Pokemon Go: Niantic in Talks with McDonald's for Sponsored Locations

The New York Times is reporting that Niantic is talks with several businesses to become sponsored Pokemon Go locations such as PokeGyms or PokeStops. Businesses would pay Niantic to be listed on players' maps as a location where people can pick up more loot for their Pokemon. In return, it is assumed that players flooding in would also opt to purchase items. One of the first companies in talks with Niantic is McDonald's.

General: Trion Worlds Creator Program Unveiled

World of Warcraft: Demon Invasions to Launch in Mid-August

The World of Warcraft community site has been updated with a look at the forthcoming demon invasions that herald the imminent arrival of the Legion expansion on August 30th. While Starbound is a sandbox, the overarching story helps to give some context to what you're doing and how you got out where you end up.

Aion servers are currently down for maintenance but should be up shortly to bring the Echoes of Eternity content expansion to the game. Players will enjoy a level cap increase to 75 and will be able to attain the Archdaeva status through a quest line.
