Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen: Feature Spotlight - Perception System

One of Pantheon's main differentiators is the way we are handling Quests and Story-related content. The consistent trend in current MMORPGs is one of linear, quest-driven leveling mechanics that funnel players from quest hub to quest hub throughout their leveling experience. This is consistent with the "Theme Park" approach of modern MMOs where little emphasis is put on free exploration or risk vs. reward. Instead, players are led by the hand and told where to go, what to do and how to do it.

General: Child-Centric World of Final Fantasy Coming This Fall

Square Enix has announced a new game in the Final Fantasy series, though this one designed to appeal to younger players. Called World of Final Fantasy, the art style of the game turns characters into chibis and will launch on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on October 25th in North America, Japan on October 27th and in the EU on October 28th.

Persona 5: North American Release Announced for February 14th

Atlus has announced that Persona 5 will be launching on February 14, 2017. The 'Take Your Heart' collector's edition was also announced that will come with an art book, the game soundtrack, a Japanese-style Shujin Academy school bag, all contained in a special edition themed box. The CE will retail for $89.99.

Black Desert Online: How Can It Change Its Reputation?

Last week I wrote about exploiting in Black Desert Online and how it's seemingly rife throughout the game. With the latest expansion pack also delayed due to it, I feel there's certainly a need for Daum to change the reputation of the game. Not only is it becoming well known for exploiting, but it being a grind is well documented. Both of these things combined with swathes of AFK players in capital cities - in the long run - are likely to do the game lasting harm.

General: Horizon: Zero Dawn Pushed Back to February 2017

Fans of Horizon: Zero Dawn will be interested to hear that the game has been pushed back to February 28, 2017. The blog article posted on the PlayStation blog indicates that the team wants more time to ensure that the visual and gameplay quality is up to its standards and meets the expectations of players.

Das Tal: Summer Alpha to Begin July 16th

The Das Tal team has sent word that the Summer Alpha will kick off on July 16th. The event will be hosted on EU servers and will run for two weeks. Anyone interested in participating can register on the Das Tal site by July 15th for guaranteed access. Those registering after that date will be accommodated as space becomes available.

General: Blizzard Teams Up with Facebook for Social Media Integration

Blizzard game players will soon be able to use their Facebook accounts to log into any of the studio's stable of games and will be able to take advantage of the social media platform's new live streaming ability, Live API, to show off epic battles on the fly. Facebook log in and streaming will be added via the Battle.Net launcher sometime in July.
