General: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Review - Charming in its Antiquity

In many ways, Trails of Cold Steel's JRPG trappings and gameplay struggle to remain relevant in an evolving genre. Yet, paradoxically, it's the game's conventional approach that makes it appealing, a reminder of the formula that has made JRPGs so popular, with several ease-of-use additions here and there to make it more accessible in the contemporary milieu. If you're looking for something new to play on your Vita or PS3, you'd be hard-pressed to do better.

ARK: Survival Evolved players should just scrap any pending plans for New Year's Eve with today's announcement that the annual ball will drop from the skies, burst open when it hits the ground and spew forth goodies for all survivors including, if one is lucky, a chance at a prehistoric kangaroo!

General: Final Fantasy IX Announced for PC & Mobile Devices

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy IX is heading to both PC and mobile devices, first to Japan in 2016, other markets at a later date. The game will receive a graphics upgrade, new achievements, an auto-save feature, new features and something called "high-speed mode".

Elder Scrolls Online: My 2016 Wishlist for Tamriel

Elder Scrolls Online is one of my personal current favorite MMOs. Zenimax Online may not be perfect, but they sure do deliver great content and seem ready and willing to listen to their players. 2015 had some fantastic updates and DLC, but 2016 could be even greater. In this week's column, I'm going to list out some hopes and dreams about what to expect from ESO in 2016.
