Heavensward Review in Progress #2

Last week I talked about the lead up to actually being able to set foot into Heavensward. This week I'm going to take a look at some of the other peripheral features that surround that game as well as examine one of the new jobs that have made their way into the game. I'll save the next two jobs for future installments of this series. I'll still keep this review spoiler free until next week. Even then I'll keep them to a minimum and clearly label them.

Echo of Soul: Too Much Echo, Not Enough Soul

Too Much Echo, Not Enough Soul

I have no problem eating Honey Nut Spins®, the knock-off version of Honey Nut Cheerios®. You can pick them up at your local Walmart for at least 25 cents less than the real thing in most cases. But you will notice every few bites that some of the "Spins" are hard enough to break a tooth. They're also smaller somehow, less puffed with air. And the flavor is good, just not great.

Lego Minifigures Online: Something For Everyone to Love

Something For Everyone to Love

When you think of Funcom, you probably think of dark, immersive stories and gameplay that is more adult-oriented, which is why LEGO Minifigures Online might have come as a surprise. The game, which saw its original free to play release last fall, is relaunching as a buy to play game today after many changes and polish.

Super Adventure Box on Hiatus for Now

Bog Otter caught an interesting tidbit posted by Colin Johanson that may be a bit disappointing for Guild Wars 2 fans. According to the post, the popular Super Adventure Box events may not return in the near term due to a reallocation of resources. Of course, never say never, but, for now, it seems they are on vacation.

Go Berserk on July 7th

A new micro-site has cropped up on the TERA main site that tells players that July 7th is a day to "go berserk". Berserkers are getting some love in the new update with new tier seven gear, new skills specifically for tanks, and much more.

Star Wars: The Old Republic: The Singleplayer MMO Cometh

The Singleplayer MMO Cometh

Knights of the Fallen Empire signals a big change for SWTOR. This doesn't mean that BioWare will be leaving out the "MMO bits" as it calls them, but it's clear that things are changing. I still fully expect there to be new raids, flashpoints, and warzones, but these items appear to be sidelined in favor of a renewed focus on story.

Camelot Unchained: Here Be Dragons

Here Be Dragons

Much like stealth most MMOers seem to have no middle ground when it comes to dragons. We seem to either love them or hate them. If you think they are an example of trite MMO tropes or if you think no fantasy MMO is complete without them, I ask you this, what are they doing in Camelot Unchained? Before we can get to that we need some background so let's see if there are any clues hidden in what we know about them already.

Neverwinter: New Dev Blog Shows Creative Process

New Dev Blog Shows Creative Process

The latest Neverwinter developer blog is an interesting one for those who enjoy the "how to" type article. In this post, Senior Character Artist Jonathan Nascone discusses how a creature goes from concept art, to modeling to animation to rigging, to texturing and, finally, to inclusion in the game. It's really a fun read for both creative types and for those who love the creative process.

Cabal 2: Review in Progress

Review in Progress

Following up to the cult classic Cabal, Cabal 2 is a new free to play MMORPG jumping into open beta on July 2nd. While I've never played the original, I was definitely excited to jump in and see what all the buzz was about. What I've seen in my first handful of hours, however, is nothing but a depressingly boring game without a shred of originality.
