Posted: 12 Jun 2015 03:46 PM PDT E3 is one of my favorite shows, and although developer announcements seem to be happening earlier and earlier each year in anticipation of the conference (I'm looking at you, Fallout 4 and new Xbox One SKU), it's still an exciting time to get an advanced look at what's coming down the pipe for MMOs and RPGs. |

Garriott writes that Release 19 will include writeable books and notes and chest permissions that will allow players write their own quests and provide their own rewards to the players completing them. |
General: Project Zodiac - Hoping to be the First Western-Made JRPG Posted: 11 Jun 2015 07:29 PM PDT Polygon has a terrific article about a new Japanese-styled RPG that will be unveiled next week at E3 2015. General: Massive Chalice - Delivering an Interesting Twist on Tactical RPGs Posted: 11 Jun 2015 03:19 PM PDT Double Fine Productions has changed their focus in recent years. After creating a couple of critically well regarded games which failed to sell well, Tim Schafer and his merry band of game developers began creating smaller games at a more rapid (and presumably less expensive to produce) pace. They have been experimenting with genre, game platform and financing method and producing some very interesting results. |

General: My Troubled Relationship with Fallout Posted: 11 Jun 2015 03:00 PM PDT With last week's announcement of Fallout 4, Chris explores his troubled relationship with the franchise. Like an old flame, it's an on-again off-again relationship. Read on as Chris dedicates the first half of this week's RPG Files to the game to an open letter to the franchise and the second half to the week's news. Fallout 4 releasing in 2015? It's looking likely. Click through to see why! |
