General: Perfect World Founder Considering Stock Buyout Posted: 04 Jan 2015 04:32 PM PST Perfect World Entertainment's Founder and Chairman of the Board, Michael Yufeng Chi, has submitted a proposal to buy out all shares of the gaming company's stock in a privatization effort. All outstanding shares would be purchased for for $20 per American Depositary Share or $4 per ordinary share in cash according to a write up at GamesIndustry.biz. |

Guild Wars 2: Polish or New Content? Posted: 04 Jan 2015 03:45 PM PST Smooth animations, fantastic audio quality, and a good UI are essential for making a good game no matter what genre you're talking about. When it comes to MMO's it's hard to find a game that has a true polished feel. A lot of these games try to fill that gap by just reskinning old content, and slapping it on top of everything to make their game seem larger. Then there's Guild Wars 2. An MMO so polished, it's actually hard to believe. In fact, it's still being polished! |

It's not uncommon to hear that MMOs are irrelevant, too expensive, cash grabs, superficial, and at worst, have 'communities' in name only, full of either apathy or trolling. Take your pick. Yet, while the genre has seen shifts over time, there is still something about MMORPGs that remains unique, and brings out the best in online community. |

Staff includes veterans from Blizzard, Ubisoft, and Cyanide Studios. The team aspires to create games the evoke emotion, allow choice that truly matters, and to give players a mature gaming experience. |
