Winter Alpha Underway

Early Access players will want to head into Albion Online to check out the new Winter Alpha Event. The doors have opened and players are invited to check out the improvements implemented since the last event. New buildings and items have been added as well as the new Farming system. The world has also expanded and players will see new spell and combat effects and much more.

Combat Abilities Shine in New Trailer

The Das Tal team has posted a new video to show off the combat abilities players will see in the game. Some of what is showcased are already in game, others to come at a later date. The video was produced to give players a visual guide to the game's notion that combat is "MOBA meets MMO". Check it out and let us know if you're convinced.

15 Creation Jobs Cut, Operations Move to Cambridge

Frontier Developments has sent a letter to investors indicating that fifteen "creation" jobs at the company's Cambridge studio have been made redundant and that all Halifax development jobs are being moved to Cambridge. What the implications are for the Halifax studio remain unclear.

Guardian Stone Mobile RPG Closed Beta Begins

Toast and Delusion Studios have announced that the ambitious mobile RPG, Guardian Stone, has officially entered its closed beta phase of development. Interested Android users can head to the game's official site to sign up to be selected as a beta tester. Players take on one of four iconic ARPG heroes and work alongside Guardians as they battle throughout the game world.

Tavern Music Available for Free Download

Bioware has announced that all ten of the Dragon Age: Inquisition tavern songs are now available for a free download. Fans can download both the music and the sheet music from the DAI site. Developers are also encouraging fans to record their own versions of the songs for a special Fan Celebration Contest.

Fifth Anniversary Celebrated in Game

Perfect World and Cryptic Studios are ready to give players some reasons to celebrate Star Trek Online's fifth anniversary. The annual anniversary event kicks off today and runs through February 26th and will feature a new story line that features Garrett Wang (Harry Kim) and Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar). Also coming with today's update is an improved Romulan story arc and updates to the bridge officer training system.

Rising Generals: Development Ends, Service Ends Soon

Inno Games has announced that it is stopping both development and service for its MMORTS Rising Generals. Development has stopped as of this writing with servers set to be turned off on February 9th. According to the press release, InnoGames was dissatisfied with the quality of the product during closed beta testing. Player feedback played a significant role in the decision.
