Gigantic: Hands On with Gigantic at PAX Prime Posted: 29 Aug 2014 06:46 PM PDT Every so often you will come across a game that absolutely captivates you and begs to be played. There are so many different things that attracts a player to a game, whether it is the art style, genre, concept or as simple as the way it plays. This Saturday morning at PAX I had one of the moments when I was able to get hands on with the new game being developed by Motiga. Gigantic, from the moment I sat down in front of the PC, just had me enthralled. |
ArcheAge: Launch is Coming, At Long Last Posted: 30 Aug 2014 04:14 PM PDT ArcheAge is not exactly unknown around these parts, but to much of the larger gaming world XLGAMES' and Trion's ArcheAge still has a lot to prove. And the time has finally come to do so. We met up with the team at PAX Prime in Seattle to discuss the forthcoming launch of the long-awaited sandbox MMORPG. |
WildStar: State of the Game Interview - Part 2 Posted: 28 Aug 2014 07:17 PM PDT Did you know that Nexus, the focal planet of WildStar, used to be called Meridia? Or that a player-created addon is now pivotal to Carbine's debugging process? During Gamescom, I got the chance to sit down with three of the studio's development supremos: Lead Client Engineer Jon Wiesman, Lead Content Designer Megan Starks, and Technical Design Lead Nick Roth. |
General: Stash: Blending Past and Present Into Something Special Posted: 28 Aug 2014 05:40 PM PDT Frogdice is, in many ways, the Little Engine That Could. It's a company that has set a standard for itself and has maintained that standard by successfully funding and delivering two previous titles. Not ready to hang it up and revel in that astonishing record, Frogdice is attempting a trifecta of games with its newest Kickstarter project to fun Stash, a turn-based RPG that seeks to bring some of the best features from RPGs of yore to the modern generation. |
Royal Quest: Review in Progress #1 Posted: 29 Aug 2014 03:42 PM PDT Confident in their ability to pull off an RPG, Katauri Interactive has upped the stakes this year by expanding its single-player concepts into an online multiplayer game. The result is Royal Quest, an MMO that presents itself as a more casual, holistic kind of MMO with accessible controls and simple quest construction, then abruptly becomes something more hardcore. |

Twenty percent of these names will be ready for use this week; for the first 24 hours after the release, players wanting to change their names will have fulfill a 1000 level minimum requirement. |
General: Omerta Launches Version 4.8 Posted: 29 Aug 2014 04:48 PM PDT Free-to-play Mafia MMO Omerta recently saw the Kurosawa family take control of the streets, much to the surprise of all the other competing families. After a status-shattering war that wiped out six families and thousands of players, the dust is settling and the remaining mafiosi are wondering what happens next. |
