Sacred 3: Nothing's Sacred Anymore

Posted: 19 Aug 2014 05:24 PM PDT

Nothing

With a pair of well-regarded titles already in existence, both firmly planted in the action-RPG genre, Sacred 3 had what amounted to a built in audience on which to unleash the game. Yet it does not take long playing the game to determine that Deep Silver and Keen Games have let down the series' existing audience and are unlikely to garner very many new fans either. The bottom line is that simply calling a game "Sacred" doesn't mean it that it actually is Sacred.

Upcoming Content Revealed

During Gamescom, Carbine's Nick Roth took columnist Gareth Harmer on a tour through some of WildStar's upcoming content. The upcoming Defile patch was a major feature, bringing a close to the story prologue and clearing the slate for an upcoming World Story. But that wasn't all - a massive new arena, new Protostar-themed 5-player dungeon and new holiday event were also shown.

Sneaking Into Invisible, Inc. Early Access

I bought my way into Invisible, Inc. a couple of months ago, but it honestly felt too rough to explore back then. That all changed yesterday when Klei Entertainment launched Early Access on Steam with a brand new update that polished things up.

Could PAX Bring Release News?

In a new email from Trion Worlds, the team will be throwing a party at this year's PAX Prime, to be held next week. During the party, Trion is cryptically saying that something big will be announced. Perhaps the official launch of ArcheAge? Only time will tell!

Elder Scrolls Online: Update 4 Focuses On Group Content & Community Feedback

Update 4 Focuses On Group Content & Community Feedback

If The Elder Scrolls Online's last update was focused largely upon guilds, the recent peek at update four looks to focus squarely on groups. The preview focused on such central features as Upper Craglorn, new quests, the new Serpent trial, Sanctum Ophidia, and their various modes. Still, for those hoping for more group content, both Gamescom, where ZeniMax continued to bring out competitive 3v3 modes, and the preview of the coming update should have made for a satisfying week.

Returning to Evil

Launched yesterday (August 19), Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition introduces the dungeon crawler to next-generation consoles. By combining the base game with the Reaper of Souls expansion in a single box, Blizzard looks set to bring a new legion of players to the world of Sanctuary. But how easy was it to get there, and what lessons did the studio learn along the way?

The Division: I Can't Wait to Play It...For Now

I Can

Convention lines are a fact of life. But lining up for...I didn't even know what, that was something new. The Division was hidden inside a giant box. There was no sound coming from it, no hints at what might be inside. Our only choice was to jump in and find out for ourselves. While waiting we wondered, would we finally be getting hands on time with the game I've been eagerly awaiting since it was first announced?

Diablo 3: The Ultimate Evil Edition Is the Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Evil Edition Is the Ultimate Edition

It feels weird to say it, but I think the most recent release of Diablo 3, The Ultimate Evil Edition, to PS4 and Xbox One just might be the best version of the game out there. Not only does it come with all of the content and improvements the PC version has already seen, but there are a load of cool console-only features to boot. Oh, and what's best? You don't have to experience any of it online.
