Star Wars: The Old Republic: Too Rigid and Longevity Posted: 18 Mar 2014 06:48 PM PDT As everyone probably knows by now, Story is the high altar upon which BioWare trades its wares. With Star Wars: the Old Republic, we got a rich set of interwoven class storylines and overall game storyline that pitted Republic versus Empire with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance. One of the critical challenges for any MMO is keeping things fresh for older players wanting to start a new alt. Replayability is the cornerstone to keeping the game's doors open. |

ArcheAge: How Deep the Rabbit Hole Goes Posted: 18 Mar 2014 08:33 PM PDT We learned a lot today about ArcheAge, coming from Trion and XLGames later this year. Sure we've seen the game in Korean, and in Russian now... but at GDC? Everything was translated and in English. And that detail alone, made everything else easier to grasp. Read on for a full bulleted list of the details we learned from today's meeting. |

The letter begins with the title of this article that, albeit somewhat quiet, the team has been hard at work on preproduction activities and that those activities equate to good production in the long run. In addition, bEhavior mentions MMORPG.com directly and how the team believes in the "no marketing middle-man" between developers and fans. |

General: Trions Glyph Aims to Make You Not Hate Launchers Posted: 19 Mar 2014 02:19 AM PDT The first thing I thought when Trion announced its Glyph game launcher and sales platform was admittedly, "God, not another one." Then, after talking to Scott Hartsman and Anais Grueb from the developer and publishing parent, my reservation has moved to bright optimism. Trion's goal isn't to compete with Steam or shove their cash shop purchases down your throat. They plan on carefully curating and hand-picking the titles they partner with to be featured on Glyph. |
Elder Scrolls Online: The Longevity of PvP in ESO Posted: 17 Mar 2014 05:31 PM PDT We've all played them, MMORPGs with leveling caps, WoW, SWTOR, DAoC, GW2, I can go on for a while listing them but you get my drift. How much play time was during the leveling experience? Very little, right? Most of your time playing was at "end game" or level cap. This week I want to take a step back from all the hype of the Elder Scrolls Online launch and talk about something that might be over looked, the longevity of PvP in ESO. |
