In addition to the PvP-only "War" server, a new PvE-only "Peace" server has been launched to expand the audience for the game. In an interesting move, all data has been mirrored on both servers allowing players to take part in the action on either. |

Dragon Nest: Assassin Class Added to SEA Version Posted: 18 Mar 2014 05:55 AM PDT Cherry Credits has announced that the Assassin playable class has been added to Dragon Nest SEA. According to Cherry Credits, the introduction of the Assassin, said to bring a whole new way to play the game, has doubled the Korean population of Dragon Nest. Whether this is a sign that the Assassin will make its way to the NA/EU version or not is unclear. |
Diablo 3: Designing the Crusader Posted: 16 Mar 2014 08:20 PM PDT The latest developer update has been posted on the Diablo III community site and centers around how the Crusader was designed both from a gameplay and aesthetic perspective. It's a terrific inside look at the design process from the ground up. The Crusader will be the newest playable class when the Diablo III expansion, Reaper of Souls, hits live service on Tuesday, March 25th. |

Valdis Story - Abyssal City: Stylish Action Platforming Posted: 15 Mar 2014 05:55 PM PDT Sometimes though, just sometimes, a game is funded on Kickstarter, releases to critical acclaim, and meets or exceeds all expectations - Valdis Story: Abyssal City seems to fall into that third category. While it is far from a perfect game, this charming indie delight delivers a consistent level of action, adventure, and RPG depth to keep you playing throughout the 10+ Metroidvania romp, with plenty left over content for subsequent attempts. |
Ghost Recon Online: Rebranded and Overhauled Version to Hit Open Beta in April Posted: 17 Mar 2014 11:51 AM PDT Ubisoft has announced that Ghost Recon Online has been renamed Ghost Recon Phantoms. In addition, the team announced that the game will hit open beta on April 10th and will feature a new art direction and an overhauled level design, among other things. Those worried about a character wipe can rest easy. It's not going to happen. |

Last week I had a chance to sit down with the guys based in Austin, Texas and get an early demo of this month's release. Today we're going to take a look at what's in this release and what's not in it, and see what it says about where the game is heading. |

General: The Subscription Model - A Matter of Expectations Posted: 15 Mar 2014 05:35 PM PDT Subscriptions. From where we are right now, the topic is worth revisiting. The Elder Scrolls Online is set for release in just a couple of weeks, while WildStar will be debuting in early June. Some feel that the subscription model is outmoded, with a contingent of players that agree that a free to play game attracts them more. Despite some games launching with subscriptions and then converting to a hybrid model, a couple of studios are trying again. |
