FFXIV - This Time on PS4

We gamers are a grudge-holding bunch, as Square Enix found out last year upon releasing Final Fantasy XIV. The game failed fans in spectacular fashion thanks to inadequate server support, bugs and obtuse mechanics. Despite public opinion and unsettling financials, Square vowed to redeem its failed MMO and against all logic, has actually done so. In fact, the game's fortunes have so reversed, Square's on the cusp of releasing it on the PS4.

Reaper of Souls Art Contest Announced

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a partnership with DeviantArt.com to sponsor a Diablo III themed art contest. Artists are invited to create portraits of any of the central characters in the game and have the chance to win a trip to the Blizzard campus, a share of $9,000, a framed print of their work and more.

Giant Races Subject of Next Stretch Goal

The Camelot Unchained team has reached out to us to let us know that the $2.5 million dollar stretch goal has been reached and that The Depths will be added to the game. In addition, the inclusion of "Giant Races" has been revealed as the next stretch goal at $2.6 million.

Dragon Nest North America players will want to check out Memoirs of a Beggar that has been deployed across all servers. Players are charged with finding treasures of a once-renowned Pirate King that are strewn across the game world. Players will be assigned random missions and rewarded with keys that unlock Golden Boxes.

There's been a lot of controversy lately about "faction turncoats". What's funny to me is that this is the kind of thing players have been dying for Zenimax to allow. But now that we have it, the folks who wanted factions to remain race-locked are now speaking out about how they think this move is a.) A cash grab or b.) Somehow wronging the lore or c.) Breaking the game's PVP. Parties are crying over a bit of spilt milk but this is all better for the game.
