Mea Culpa Issued: "We Screwed Up"

The Perpetuum team has issued a new "state of the game" letter on the official site that is essentially a "mea culpa" for the missteps the sandbox title has made with players new to the game. Essentially, the team admits that throwing newbs into the game without any direction is a bad idea. To correct this, players will have a chance to "play before you play" on a specially designed virtual training program.

US Federal Officials Investigating 38 Studios Loan

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has subpoenaed the State of Rhode Island for all documents pertaining to the loan between the state and 38 Studios, the creators of Kingdoms of Amalur. 38 Studios defaulted on the loan with Rhode Island, with the state suing Curt Schilling, founder of 38, and other key members of the staff. The US SEC has requested those documents as well.

Trion Hints at Forthcoming PvP Dimensions

While not on the radar for release in the near future, the Trion team is working on PvP dimensions for Rift. According to a short post on the Rift Junkies forums, the new PvP dimensions are in a very basic state of development and players are given a slight bit of information as to how, at least at this point, they will work.
