LG’s Love Affair with 21:9 Displays Continues with V960 AIO PC Posted: 31 Aug 2013 01:36 PM PDT The V960 rocks a 29-inch UltraWide IPS screenLG's fixation with 21:9 cinema displays continues. Hot on the heels of the expansion of its UltraWide display lineup, the South Korean company has now announced an all-in-one (AIO) which sports a 21:9 display. The IPS 21:9 UltraWide All-In-One PC will be showcased at the upcoming IFA 2013 trade event, which is only right considering the company introduced the first product in its 29-inch UltraWide display lineup at last year's event. The Windows 8-based all-in-one PC packs a latest-gen Intel Core i5 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M GPU and a TV tuner, the company revealed in a press release in which it also declared itself to be the leader of the "relatively new but growing UltraWide segment." The V960 also has picture-in-picture (PIP) capabilities, "allowing users to browse the internet while watching TV." Also on display at IFA 2013 will be three upcoming 29-inch UltraWide IPS displays from the company's stable — 29EA73, 29EB73 and 29MA73 — that were announced earlier this month. "The29MA73 not only comes equipped with a TV tuner but also features Extra View, which allows a portion of the screen to be utilized to access a TV schedule or another application, for a full IPTV experience," reads the press release. "What's more, the new 29EB73 includes an ergonomic stand that can be easily adjusted to the most comfortable height, helping to reduce stress in the office." "LG's 29-inch IPS 21:9 UltraWide lineup makes multitasking more convenient with extra screen real estate for displaying more content and information on one screen. Well suited to the needs of the modern professional, these exceptional displays further enhance multitasking with 4-Screen Split and Dual Link-up features." While the press release itself is silent on the subject of pricing, reports doing the rounds on the Internet suggest that the V960 will cost around £1,000 ($1,500) in Europe. We may be done with almost three-quarters of the year, but Lenovo wants to make the most of what's left and has announced three new AIOs: the ThinkCentre E93z, E73z and M73z. The Chinese computer maker, which is the leading AIO vendor in the world, appears to be particularly proud of the E93z, which it claims is "one of the thinnest all-in-one PCs ever built for business." The 48mm thick device sports a 21.5 inch infinity glass full HD display. Furthermore, those who go for the optional 10-point multi-touch display and the equally optional ThinkCentre UltraFlex Stand will be able to make "height, tilt, pivot, and recline adjustments to maximize ergonomic comfort and productivity for the best possible Windows 8 experience." The E93z packs up to a 4th generation Core i7 processor, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce 720, Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD) storage, 7-in-1 card reader, 6 USB 3.0, 4 internal USB 2.0, SATA II, SATA III, Stereo/Mic Combo port (mic in/ headphone out), HDMI (in/out), Intel WiDi and DVD-RAMBO. Built with business collaboration in mind, the ThinkCentre E73z and M73z are both 20-inchers with up to 4th generation Intel Core i7 processors, SSHD, 720p HD camera, and two USB 3.0 ports.
