Everquest Designer Brad McQuaid Rejoins Vanguard Team


Vanguard fans will be heartened by the news, spotted by Massively, that veteran MMO developer Brad McQuaid has rejoined SOE to work on Vanguard as it prepares to become free-to-play. In a short interview with the game's official site, McQuaid dished on his experience in the industry at large and in particular his experience in the world of Telon.

Green Man Gaming: EU ruling makes cloud gaming "less attractive"


Green Man Gaming CEO Paul Sulyok believes Tuesday's EU ruling on second-hand digital sales will make cloud gaming a less attractive prospect to consumers in the long term.Sulyok, whose company allows consumers to download games then trade them in for credit against future purchases, warns that, while the practical effects of the ruling won't take effect straight away, a future in which players are able to sell on their digital copies of games easily could have a negative effect on the market for streaming games.

Dota 2 Updates Adds Two New Heroes


Dota 2's latest update has brought with it some bug fixes and two new heroes: Thrall the Disruptor and Dirge the Undying.Thrall the Disruptor channels electricity through his warhammer via some mad-science-y battery pack, summons a ring of tesla coils to trap foes, calls down lightning storms, and teleports enemies back in time.Dirge The Undying saps his foes to bolster his own strength and health and can transform into a monstrous alternate form.
