Guild Wars 2 is a 3D Fantasy MMORPG published by NCSoft – the same company behind Lineage 2, City of Heroes and Aion. It was developed though by ArenaNet, the same company behind the original Guild Wars. Recently I was able to check out the upcoming World versus World versus World (i.e. WvWvW) PvP area within the game. Featuring a large, persistent map the size of a normal zone within the game, WvWvW allows 3 servers to participate in an ongoing battle to see which server is the top dog. RuneScape Opens Combat Beta Weekend To Members

Jagex has opened its Evolution of Combat beta to all RuneScape members this weekend.

50,000 testers have already been working at the new combat system, which includes an action bar, critical hits, unlocked abilities, and new animations. The weekend test – which will run until July 9 at 2am Pacific (10 BST) – will include a Castle Wars challenge, letting players compete against the game’s developers. Players who take part in all four open weekends will earn a Mad Scientist outfit.

Thursday 5^th July 2012, Cambridge, UK – Jagex, maker of the world's most popular free-to-play MMORPG – RuneScape, today announced the opening of its highly anticipated Combat Beta, Evolution of Combat to all RuneScape members this weekend.

The members will join an elite band of 50,000 testers, who applied for access to the Beta and have been engrossed in game play for the last week, to help shape the development of this significant and immense update.

The open weekend will run from 10am on Friday 6^th July until 10am on Monday 9^th July (BST). This is the first of four open weekends where members will be able to hone their skills and, should players participate in all four and carry out certain tasks, their efforts will unlock a unique player outfit at the end of the Beta.

This weekend's challenge requires players to complete one full game of Castle Wars, the popularity of which will be bolstered by the chance to do battle with RuneScape's esteemed team of developers.

“We're really pleased to be able to announce the first Combat Beta open weekend for RuneScape members." commented Mark Ogilvie, RuneScape’s Lead Designer. "Not only will they be able to playtest and fine tune their skills, but if they take part in each of the four open weekends, they will be rewarded with the unique Mad Scientist outfit!”

Through the Evolution of Combat, RuneScape has undergone the most significant change in its 11-year history. The developer has promised a totally revolutionary change to the game – upping the level of immersion and player involvement while, critically, retaining the features and overall charm that have made the browser-based adventure so popular.

The Evolution of Combat update includes a host of new features designed to add even more excitement and skill to the game. Peace Comes To Grepolis Server

InnoGames has announced the release of Hyperborea, a peaceful server for Grepolis.

The new server prevents players from conquering enemy cities; this also means that players will never have to fear their own cities being conquered. This server will instead offer an experience dedicated to coexistance and individual efforts.

A new event has also been announced, Grepolympia, where players will train their athletes to face off in intense competition for in-game prizes and advantages.

InnoGames also publishes Forge of Empires and Tribal Wars.

By now it was nearly 1pm and Riven’s group had already had enough. We pushed on because we had to catch ‘em all.

Finally at 1pm R2D2 informed us the Koihime Girls were ready and waiting.

While Kitty and I were busy with interviews.. Bowen had abandoned his position behind the camera.

Missing cameraman found! I expect nothing less of Bowen at this point.

The Koihime Musou group all lined up! We’re prioritizing this video set so expect to see it live very soon.

En Route to see the Elsword team we came across a Sona that was so shy she refused to speak on camera. But when her friends heard we were with MMOHut they threw her into a hilarious interview with Kitty Mach. Look forward to seeing Sona in action soon as well.

It was now almost 3pm and the energy level and chaos within the convention center was reaching a boiling point. See how many characters you can identify!

We wrapped things up with Kitty Mach getting some hands on time with Elsword’s newest playable character, Chung, who also happened to be there in person with a cannon both wider and taller than Kitty. This is the second video we’re prioritizing so get ready to see just how tiny she is compared to Chung’s massive cannon in an upcoming video.

It was about 11am ad time to meet up with Kitty Mach and NGMoco to look at some new MMO apps in the works. I swear every convention I visit more and more companies are going the way of the Ipad. I never thought there would be a direct competitor to the PC MMORPG but give technology another year and that’s the reality we’re going to see.

I think this unhappy looking fellow is Zack Fair but feel free to correct me or confirm it!

I’ve seen this combo plenty of times but can’t identify it. Who are they?

On the way to Red 5 Studio’s new FireFall tour bus we tripped over a Left 4 Dead Witch. Thankfully zombie control was on the scene.

Around noon we hit up the Red 5 Studios Firefall tour bus and to say I was impressed would be a huge understatement. They have over 40 top of the line PC rigs set up inside with a dedicated server and shoutcasting booth all built into this massive metallic tour bus designed to take Firefall on the road around the US this summer. Keep an eye out for an upcoming video of Kitty Mach’s first experience with Firefall!
