Avenger Controller PR Rep Dropped as He Seeks Forgiveness Posted: 28 Dec 2011 12:01 PM PST The Internet was set ablaze yesterday as an email chain between a disgruntled customers, a PR rep doing customer service, and Penny Arcade's Mike Krahulik was published on the webcomic's website. In it, Ocean Marketing's Paul Christoforo was seen bullying the customer and being of little help to someone who has waited nearly two months to get the product he paid for in full in early November. Christoforo has now been replaced as the marketing man for the product in question, and the Boston native is now looking for the wave of hate to come to an end. It was an order for the Avenger Controller (pictured below), a modified controller designed to allow disabled gamers to use the rear triggers, that started all of this. The controller's inventor and owner, David Kotkin, has apologized in a statement sent to Kotaku and revealed Ocean Marketing no longer represents the product. |
Uncharted: Golden Abyss Sets a New Standard For Portable Visuals, But Not Game Design Posted: 28 Dec 2011 11:25 AM PST This is not a review of Uncharted: Golden Abyss, though it could well be. The Japanese version of the game, which shipped with the PS Vita at launch, offers full English-language support, including dialogue, menus, and even Trophies. But this isn't a review, because -- despite having had the game in-hand for a week now -- it hasn't quite gelled with me enough for me to finish it off. To Golden Abyss' credit, my failure to have completed it yet has a good deal to do with its length. Currently I'm about a quarter of the way through the adventure, if chapter count is anything to go by, but I'm guessing I've sunk at least four hours into the game. Given the production values on display here, that's a rather generous amount of content. See, if nothing else, Golden Abyss is an amazing-looking game. |
Former Harmonix Shareholders Owed $383 Million by Viacom Posted: 28 Dec 2011 10:15 AM PST The ongoing lawsuit between Viacom and former Harmonix shareholders has taken an interesting turn. Resolution accountants appointed by the two parties to determine how much money is owed to whom have determined Viacom owes the shareholders $383 million. The shareholders originally filed their lawsuit last December alleging Viacom did not make good on bonus payments to the shareholders -- a group which includes Harmonix co-founders Alex Rigopulos and Eran Egozy -- and that it actively tried to minimize the amount it would have to pay in bonuses. |
