Ayopa Games Releases its First Two iOS Games

Posted: 03 Nov 2011 04:36 PM PDT

Not long after launching last month, Ayopa Games has already released its first two iOS games today, Chicken Rescue and W.E.L.D.E.R. Like with many games being launched on the App Store, they're each available at half-price for a limited time.

Chicken Rescue is a fairly simple arcade game where you guide a chicken around a level, collecting flowers and baby chickens that have to be delivered to the end of the level. Having gotten to play it for myself over the last week, I found myself enjoying it the more I played. Initially it seems incredibly simple, even to a fault. Things begin to pick up as you see how you can level up your chicken with the points you get from collecting flowers.

Silent Hill Book of Memories

Silent Hill fans are in for a real treat in the first quarter of 2012. Konami has announced release dates for three Silent Hill games, and all of them fall within the first three months of the new year.

The first of the bunch is the Silent Hill HD Collection, which was first announced last June and consists of HD remakes of Silent Hill 2 and 3. They each feature new voiceovers and will be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 24.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition Bundles the Game and All its DLC

Fallout New Vegas

If you've missed out on Fallout: New Vegas until now and want some open-world action that features more guns than the swords and magic seen in the upcoming Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda plans to package the game with all of its DLC for a special edition release next year.

Scheduled for release on February 7, 2012 in North America and February 10 in Europe, the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition bundles the game with all of its downloadable expansion packs: Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, Lonesome Road, Courier's Stash, and Gun Runners' Arsenal. With the level cap increases provided by these, you'll be able to take your character all the way up to level 50, which should take a great deal of time.

Early Modern Warfare 3 Buyers Don't Need to Worry About Xbox Live Bans

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

A handful of lucky gamers have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in their hands right now -- and they didn't get it by downloading the leaked version currently floating around the Internet.

At least one Kmart store (located in Tampa, Florida) began selling the game in its electronics department despite its release being scheduled for November 8, Kotaku reports. Copies have also shown up on eBay (where the image below comes from) and Craigslist in New York at inflated prices.

New Alan Wake, BioWare Games to Show Up at VGAs

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Spike TV is starting to ramp up the excitement for the 2011 Video Game Awards and is teasing some of the announcements that will be made at the show. Last year's show featured the likes of Mass Effect 3, Prototype 2, Insane, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, Forza 4, Skyrim, and more. We don't know the full lineup yet -- and we likely won't until the show actually takes place -- but the first batch of games you can count on hearing about this year includes the new Alan Wake, something from BioWare, and Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

In an announcement about Survivor and The Voice's Mark Burnett signing on as an executive producer, it's stated that Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be "revealed" at the show by series creator Hideo Kojima.

Heavy Rain

A re-release of Quantic Dream's adventure thriller has been announced, and it's coming a great deal sooner than you might guess.

Heavy Rain: Director's Cut will be available in the United States starting on November 8 for $29.99. In addition to the game itself -- originally released in February 2010 -- this special edition includes the game itself, the Taxidermist DLC, a soundtrack, a new menu with support for PlayStation Move (which was integrated with the game last September), eight making-of videos, three dynamic PlayStation Network themes, new concept art, and two bonus trailers.

New Rainbow Six Game Called Patriots, Coming in 2013

Rainbow 6 Patriots

The newest game in the Rainbow Six series has finally been confirmed today. Known as Rainbow 6 Patriots, this latest Tom Clancy first-person shooter won't be out until 2013, making it at least a five-year wait in between Rainbow Six console releases as the most recent of the bunch was Vegas 2 in March 2008.

The wait may have been for the best, as the game was criticized at the time for being too similar to the original Rainbow Six: Vegas, released in November 2006.

Grand Theft Auto V Brings Back Multiplayer to Southern California

Posted: 03 Nov 2011 09:09 AM PDT

Following up on the release of the game's debut trailer yesterday, Rockstar has issued a Grand Theft Auto V press release and provided some scraps of information about the project.

A lot of what was suggested in the trailer has been confirmed -- the game is set in a Los Angeles-inspired city that will, like in San Andreas, be called Los Santos. It's described as a "re-imagined, present-day Southern California" that includes some of L.A.'s surroundings, namely the "surrounding hills, countryside and beaches."
