E3 2011 - Prime World impresses

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 03:00 AM PDT

I normally don't post much on web/ browser games, but this year's E3 had this game in store for us. Originally announced back in May earlier this year, Prime World is a cross-platform online game spanning from Facebook, PC (web browsers), Mac as well as iOS and Android devices. The game will run on the same server across all platforms. Below is a photo of the game being tested by attendees at E3 2011.

Prime World will not just be a stale game trying to sell y its good looks, players can expect castle building, PvP, solving puzzles and more! The official website can be found at http://en.playpw.com/.

E3 2011 - Ghost Recon Online ready this summer

Well, there is actually nothing much to type about Ghost Recon Online, except that the game will be going into Closed Beta later this summer. Developed by Ubisoft Singapore, the game will bring the Tom Clancy franchise into the world of online shooters. There are 3 classes to choose from, Assault, Recon and Specialist, each with its own role to play in the team. The game will be Free to Play and you can register for its beta here.

Below are some screenshots and photos taken at this year's E3 2011 from Ubisoft's booth.

E3 2011 - Wizardry Online aiming to be "un-casual"

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 02:20 AM PDT

(Source) It seems like my posts for E3 2011 is still not over as I have forgotten to scan through the Japanese media for news. I am sure by now, most of you would have read about Gamepot's Wizardry Online and plans to bring the game over to the English market soon. At E3 2011, the game was unveiled at a casual press conference, with Gamepot Japan declaring that Wizardry Online will be an "un-casual" MMORPG. This could be very well due to the permanent death system found, a first for me personally. You can read more about the permanent death feature here.

I shan't translate the whole article as the whole focus is mainly on the advanced gameplay and the harsh perma death penalty. Below are some photos taken at the E3 2011 press conference.

KOF World - Finally canceled

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 01:50 AM PDT

As early as 2009, I posted about 2 King of Fighters MMO being in development. A few days ago, one of the games was canned even before release. Shanda Games, one of the Big 3 MMO companies in China, officially announced the cancellation of the game, citing lack of market interest and the game not fitting current consumer dynamics. What was supposed to be a novel project of bringing the KOF series to the PC platform went up in flames, with the Korean version by Dragonfly having no news at all as well. You can visit KOF World's Chinese website here.

E3 2011 - My own thoughts

Posted: 12 Jun 2011 01:28 AM PDT

E3 2011 had lots more online games than I initially expected. Although the limelight still fell on the consoles, most notably Nintendo Wii U, credits have to be given to the various MMO on display, particularly Electronic Arts' Star Wars: The Old Republic. The game looks really good and I believe it is the first time I am praising the title. Content and features wise, SWTOR is set to blow minds away. However, I still remain skeptical about the combat after watching some footage. Still to similar to World of Warcraft in my opinion. It would be awesome if the combat system is like TERA's, with classes like the Trooper having a FPS view option. It isn't really impossible eh?

Motion sensors for the consoles stole much of the show. Weren't there some teasers about such gadgets or devices coming for the PC platform? Or was I dreaming about it? It could make sense since monitors are getting larger with higher resolutions. And why are the fatties playing on console games getting the chance to do some workout? As a chubby guy myself sitting in front of the PC most of the time (like now), I wouldn't mind playing some motion sensor games =X That is all for now, and thank you for reading through my E3 2011 posts in this small blog.
