First Look: Utherous

We sat down with the folks from Utherous at PAX East to have a first look at their new game. Using the Atavism MMO Creator, Thomas Timothy and his team have created a sandbox where players can build up their towns, siege other towns, or take on the local wildlife and other beings inhabiting the world of Utheria. Paired with Bionic Marine Command Online in a Steam bundle that recently got greenlit, Utherous shows a very strong sense of identity within a full-to-bursting genre.

Neople is bringing Dungeon Fighter Online back to life and will kick off the open beta on March 24th. Dungeon Fighter Online will be available through Steam though, as yet, there is no "store page" for the free to play title. Nexon, former publisher of DFO, terminated the game back in summer 2013.

Last night's Camelot Unchained update contained the good news that the alpha test for the highly anticipated title has officially begun. Over a thousand backers checked in during the initial hours of the alpha which ran smoothly without crashes for nearly 72 hours. Closed Beta Start Delayed Due to Log In Issues

The Skyforge team has posted that they are investigating a series of issues preventing players from connecting to the closed beta servers. Players are getting a "107 error" and "Error 2" or are simply being told that they are "disconnected from the server". The SF team is working on solving the issues and we will keep you posted when it appears that most, if not all, are cleared up.

Ah, Second Life. It's still the angsty teenager of the MMO world, even though it's been around for more than a decade. My account is almost as old as the game - May of 2004 - but I definitely do not play in the world as much as I have in the past. Second Life really deserves full attention, or at least it can demand it, just like a teenager. It's also full of energy and hormones and bursting with creative ideas... just like a teenager.
