Claptrap and his posse return in Telltale's new project

Can't get enough Borderlands or Telltale Games? You're in luck! An announcement from Spike TV's VGX awards reveals Tales from the Borderlands, Telltale Games' latest game taking place in the Borderlands universe.

Unfortunately, aside from an announcement trailer which you can watch below, few details have been released about the game itself. It is, however, coming to the PC -- though whether or not it's poised to stay there is another question entirely. Those looking for another reason to jump into the world beyond the late Tiny Tina DLC would do well to check this adventure game out upon its release.

For now, check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Twitter Expanding to Cell Users Without Internet Access

Posted: 08 Dec 2013 07:48 PM PST

Tweeting without internet access will soon be a reality for some

Tweeting is best done with an internet connection, as we all know. How else can you stay up-to-date with your feed, share your updates, and discover new friends and faces to follow? That's all about to change, as Twitter has partnered with a Singapore business that would aid the social network site to grow in smaller markets.

U2opia Mobile will be introducing a new service in March of 2014 that will allow users without internet-enabled phones to use Twitter. The secret behind tweeting without an internet connection lies within Unstructured Supplementary Data (USSD) that allows cell phone users to dial a special number that allows them to receive updates in that manner when an internet connection is not available. Users wouldn't be able to tweet images or video, but they could send text updates, and since that's Twitter's primary method of use it would act as a huge boon for those adopting new accounts.

It's an idea that could very quickly work to bring the world even closer together and one that would surely benefit both Twitter and those in areas without access to service that allows them to surf the web.

Facebook Working to Put News Before Memes

Posted: 08 Dec 2013 07:00 PM PST

Expect more links to show up on your feeds

Sick of seeing that same badly-Photoshopped meme about 'Merica with bald eagles and something or other about freedom for the third time? What about pictures of babies? Great news -- Facebook is working to prioritize "high quality" news stories on user feeds rather than memes or similar types of content.

This news comes by way of Facebook's most recent blog post, where the social network has made the promise to better distinguish between news posts and just another meme someone's posted -- examples include pieces on recent events and social commentary being heralded over photos from Imgur and the like. If you click on a link to an article that's been promoted because of its content type, Facebook will also bring up recommendations to "help discover" additional content you may or may not find interesting.

The push is directed to generate more discussion amongst users, but at the same time links that are posted aren't always going to direct to content that people find more entertaining than memes. If you use Facebook, do you think this is a push in the right direction?

Jetpack PC From Piixl Fits Comfortably On the Back of Your TV

Posted: 08 Dec 2013 04:14 PM PST

Strap a Jetpack onto the back of your TV

With Valve's upcoming systems and the various "Steam Machine" models on the horizon, the road to becoming a PC gamer is quickly becoming a clear path unmuddied by confusing hardware or frustrating setups. Now, Piixl wants to get in on the action with its new Jetpack PC, which seeks to offer a different sort of convenience: the kind you don't even have to see.

Piixl's Jetpack PC attaches to the back of your television, so no one even has to know you're equipped with a powerful gaming machine unless you choose to reveal it. You can change out the graphics card or GPU whenever you're ready as the system is an open PC architecture, so you'll be able to keep up with the times on the cheap without having to buy an entirely new setup.

The Jetpack itself is actually quite small, 2.5 inches thick, and it will start at $1,000, going on sale January 1st, 2014. Exact specifications for the machine have yet to be revealed, but it looks to be a pretty powerful piece of equipment. It's an interesting setup to be sure, but who will end up adopting this over Valve's Steam Machine prototypes?
