Dragonica Japan - New Origin first look

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 05:46 AM PDT

I hate it when game publishers and websites pull such a stunt after I had a tiring day at work. Dragonica Japan will be updated with the New Origin patch in a matter of hours, and once again the biggest gaming website in the Land of the Rising Sun, 4Gamer, was given an exclusive first look into the new update. Pardon my Japanese, I actually know none of the language except some Kanji (which are really Chinese words). Here we go!

↑ Choosing between the Human or Dragonkin (I prefer this name) races.
↑ Apparently the first patch will only have the male Dragonkin available.
↑ Character created!!!
↑ Off you go to complete some newbie quests.
↑ There are 2 types of Summoner, pure magic attack or summoning. This is the skill tree for pure attacking.
↑ And this is the summoning skill tree. Spend your skill points wisely!
↑ Summon no.1 costs 220 MP to cast, has a cooldown of 65 seconds and the pets lasts 8 minutes.
↑ Summon no.2 looks kind of weird and scary. Notice one the left side, there is a pet window, Red is for Health Points while the other is to countdown the remaining time the summon has left.
Summon no.3 costs 600 MP to cast, has a cooldown of 180 seconds and the pets lasts 9 minutes.
Summon no.4 costs 400 MP to cast, has a cooldown of 180 seconds and the pets lasts 7 minutes.
Summon no.5 is a rock golem... and a giant one at it.
Summoning up till 2 summons to fight alongside you! The blue 4-legged dragon is actually your friendly mount...
Your new pet, which can be tamed for...
↑ ...being you personal mount as well! According to the article, players now can tactically mount and float above ground level to avoid boss monsters' attacks!
To be honest I am not sure where this blue dragon comes from, but if can also teleport players to other maps at a fee. Seems like a skill for Summoners only?
Before I forget, the Dragonkin's home map.
↑ Another new map.
Summoning up till 3 pets at a time! Maximize the 7 "spaces" you have!
This dragon mount looks like the young version of the big blue one...
New window when entering instances. There are some minor changes to chat window, party window etc as well.
Yet another summon and... is that a male or female character! I was thinking that the female Dragonkin will have another class! *confused(

Mabinogi Heroes - Chapter 9 gets updated again

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 04:19 AM PDT

The updates for Mabinogi Heroes, one of Nexon Korea's best online titles, is getting an update... again! With Chapter 10 and Kai the Archer looming, the developers decided to patch new content before the big one comes. In the Song of Ruins update, a band new PvE area is introduced. As you can guess from the update name, the environment is that of 4 different ruins and are guarded by fearsome new bosses.

Other revised systems include the updated ranking system where more details are added when players manage to clear any dungeons. Guild warehouse and guild skills will be added, along with a streamlined skill window and chat windows. Looks like this update is to iron out all the small details before Kai arrives! More info can be found here.

ARA Online - Teaser footage revealed

Posted: 21 Jun 2011 12:56 AM PDT

ARA Online was actually announced last week, but I didn't want to post about it as there was only 1 character art and no trailers or screenshots were in sight. Developed by Korean studio Aquarius, ARA Online is a 3D action side-scroller. Founded in 2008, the studio is made up of several staff who hailed from NCsoft, CJ E&M, Sonov (now ChoiRock Games), T3 Entertainment and more.

There will be 5 different beginning classes to choose from, each with various class advancement options. The company so far did not release much information, but there will be a PvP arena as well. A Focused Group Testing (FGT) will happen soon and the company aims to release ARA Online before the year ends.
