General: Three Kingdoms Brawler Event Announced

The9 has announced a pre-launch event for Three Kingdoms, the 2D side-scrolling brawler. Called "Out Classed", the event challenges players to reach hero status before June 3rd. Those who do will be entered into a raffle for forty-four prizes, tops of which is an Ultimate Trio G Series Gaming Combo from Logitech.

Mythos: Daily Quests Coming in June

Frogster has announced that Mythos daily quests will be arriving in June. Daily quests will be available to players at level fifteen and higher. There will be three daily quests in each major quest hub in Uld.

Nexon buys into Luna Online developer

Korean MMO giant, Nexon, has announced acquiring 20% of developer Eyasoft's stocks. Eyasoft is well-known for various of it online game titles, including Mo Xiang Online (or Titan Online), Luna Online, Legend of Edda and Iris Online. Earlier in this year, Eyasoft stopped all its game services in Korea citing a "temporary break" without affect the English services of its games.

Eyasoft, which started out brightly, is believed to have make huge losses last year after a drastic drop in sales figures. The Korean services for Luna Online, Legend of Edda and Iris Online will officially be closed on 1st June next month, leading to a possible situation where the English services will not be getting anymore content updates.


The injection of cash by Nexon will help the company continue to develop their games. Nexon will also acquire the rights for 2 of Eyasoft's upcoming games which are still in development, one being a martial arts MMO and the other a war-based MMO based on ancient Korea.

Rumor - Red 5 Studios and Webzen going to court

According to foreign reports, Red 5 Studios and Webzen are going to court over the publishing rights for Red 5's maiden online game, Firefall. Although I posted about the major unrest about the 2 companies before, let me summarize again. Korean developer and publisher, Webzen, first got the global publishing rights for Firefall (except North America and Europe) some time ago.


However, not much was done by Webzen and no proposals were discussed with Red 5 Studios about their plans to market the game even till now. In recent months, Red 5 Studios got back the global rights from Webzen according to some clauses signed in the contract leaving only the rights for Korea and Asia to Webzen. Webzen, on the other hand, claimed that Red 5 Studio's founder Mark Kern did not visit the company's executives when in Korea, instead heading to meet the Firefall team based there, thus showing a sign of disrespect. An interesting point to note, Webzen did not attend PAX East 2011 when invited. Other than a Korean website for Red 5 Studios, there is nothing visible about Firefall now in the region.
