HeroWarz: Closed Beta Event 2 Now Live

KOG Games has sent word that HeroWarz has entered its second closed beta phase. The event will be running through June 24th with players in several countries taking part (US, Canada, EU, Australia and New Zealand). Participating players will be able to unlock special gear for achieving milestones during CBT 2.

Heroes of the Storm: All Heroes Free to Play from Jun 24-28

Blizzard has announced that all heroes will be free to play for a limited time to celebrate the conclusion of the two Heroes of the Storm Summer Championships. The free hero rotation will take place from June 24th to June 28th. In addition, a special package of hero skins will be made available during the event.

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen: Two Hours of Gameplay to be Shown in Thursday Stream

Visionary Realms will be hosting a special live stream event for Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. The stream will take place on Thursday, June 23rd beginning at 6:00 pm Pacific / 9:00 pm Eastern and will feature up to two hours of game play as developers and guests run through Black Dagger Keep and a "surprise dungeon". The event will take place in the Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen Twitch.tv channel.

Runescape: The Gower Quest Honors Original Creators

Fifteen years ago, the Gower brothers (Andrew, Paul & Ian) created RuneScape. With today's update, they, in a sense, return to the game in a new quest line called the "Gower Quest". Players are looking into the mysterious disappearance of cabbage mages and provides a lot of "inside jokes" and vintage RuneScape nods.

I need to confess, when NCsoft first showed me MXM last year I was pretty skeptical. While the version we played wasn't localized, it was evident that NCsoft was trying to push into the free-to-play space of other MOBAs--which at the time seemed like an awful idea to me. But MXM isn't a MOBA, it smartly borrows some of those ideas, a few more from action RPGs, and then even a sprinkling from MMOs, and turns that all into something that so far feels distinct and different.

WildStar: Group Up During the Nexus with Friends Event

Carbine has published a brief but interesting post on the Wildstar site that reveals how much more fun it is for players to roam the game in groups. During the 'Nexus with Friends' event, players who group up and complete multiplayer PvE events can earn double Renown. This boon to Renown gains can be earned in expeditions, adventures and dungeons.
