General: Five Pointed Questions About TESO Posted: 14 Sep 2015 02:09 PM PDT When the development of The Elder Scrolls Online was officially confirmed back in 2012, it was one of the most exciting MMORPG announcements ever. The enormous popularity of the single-player franchise on both PC and consoles meant it had a huge core target audience, and the world of Tamriel had a strong inter-faction conflict element that would transition easily. Unfortunately, it seems pretty safe to say that the game has fallen short of the potential it initially seemed to have. |
World of Tanks: Sennheiser to Sponsor Blitz Rise of Continents Tournament Posted: 15 Sep 2015 04:18 AM PDT Wargaming has announced that Sennheiser is sponsoring a four week World of Tanks: Blitz mobile tournament called "Rise of Continents". The tournament will begin on September 28th. No registration is necessary, just log in and play. During the event, clusters will command armies to complete a number of objectives that may include most tanks destroyed, most victories, etc. At the end of each week, region points will be tallied. |
General: ELoA to be Launched in North America & Europe by Webzen Posted: 15 Sep 2015 04:11 AM PDT Webzen has announced its publication partnership with Npicsoft to bring ELoA (Elite Lord of Alliance) to both North America and Europe. ELoA is described by Webzen as being an "anime-inspired fantasy action MMORPG, with both point-and-click and keyboard controls. Players will start by choosing one of 5 playable classes among 4 races. Each class has access to 3 stances and skills that players can easily switch between during combat." |
Mabinogi: TCG Tie In, Mabinogi Duel, Soft-Launched Posted: 15 Sep 2015 04:02 AM PDT |
Bloodborne: Sony Announces The Old Hunters for November 24th Posted: 15 Sep 2015 02:39 AM PDT Promising that it will be "a full scale expansion", Sony has announced The Old Hunters for Bloodborne. The expansion was announced during the Tokyo Games Show and Sony further announced that it would be available on November 24th. To give players a first look at The Old Hunters, a new trailer was shown. Check it out below! |
Shards Online: Player Housing Unique in the MMO Space Posted: 14 Sep 2015 09:30 AM PDT Player housing in Shards Online is unique for many reasons. The biggest reason is because your house and the decorations/furniture/trophies you put inside it are more real than in other MMOs. Everything you find or create as you explore the worlds of Shards Online can be used to decorate your home, inside and out, to make it stand out. You will hire NPCs to work on your land as guards, merchants, or even an apprentices to your craft. |
Destiny: How a Dongle and a Re-Roll Got Me to Try Bungies MMO Again Posted: 14 Sep 2015 10:29 AM PDT I wasn't overly fond of Destiny when it launched last year. I enjoyed the tight FPS controls on my PS4, but the hackneyed story, the repetitive progression, and the overall disjointed feeling of so many long loading screens between everything eventually pushed me away. But I recently came back, and this time I think I might stay for a while... |
Guild Wars 2: Engineer Elite Specialization Teased Posted: 14 Sep 2015 11:02 AM PDT |
Skyforge: Battle History Revisions Coming with Aelion's Call Update Posted: 14 Sep 2015 10:48 AM PDT The Skyforge site has a new developer blog post that lays out the details of the Battle History revision that will be coming along with the Aelion's Call update. All players in a Pantheon with at least level two can access Battle History which gives statistical information about group damage, damaged received, enemies, length of battle and more. |
General: More 38Studios Fallout - Judge Orders $12.5M Settlement Posted: 14 Sep 2015 10:26 AM PDT 38Studios, founded by baseball superstar Curt Schilling, took a loan for $75M from the state of Rhode Island, a loan which the company defaulted on in spectacular fashion. In 2012, a suit was filed against twelve defendants (now only eight) in an effort to recoup the loan. On Friday, a judge ordered a $12.5M to be paid by four defendants. This is added to an earlier judgment $4.37M. |
Champions Online: Supervillain Onslaught to Launch September 17th Posted: 14 Sep 2015 10:05 AM PDT Cryptic Studios is ready to unleash the next major update to Champions Online on September 17th. Called "Supervillain Onslaught", players will be able to take on the role of an iconic bad guy from the game and take on other players called "guardians" who are tasked with trying to stop the chaotic run through Millenium City. |
General: Five Things Update 2.0 and The Taken King Can Bring to Destiny Posted: 13 Sep 2015 01:30 PM PDT There are two things that I really like about Destiny: its tried and true Bungie combat, and its phenomenal vistas. As I've written about in the past, I find the FPS gameplay in Destiny to be engaging enough, and I really enjoy the game's visuals, but have been unimpressed by its overall approach to content and lack of streamlining. |
