The Secret World: The Voice on the Phone: Why Faction Matters Posted: 17 Nov 2014 03:11 PM PST Much of The Secret World is the same no matter which faction you chose to go with. The open world where nearly all of the game takes place is identical no matter which group you pick. If you're a Dragon you can even team up with an Illuminati and a Templar at the same time. So the question becomes, if most of the game is the same no matter which side you join, does it really matter? I would say that yes, it very much matters and not for the reason you might be thinking. |

Warhammer 40.000: Eternal Crusade: This Week's Tidbits Posted: 17 Nov 2014 03:00 PM PST It's been a slow news period for Eternal Crusade, since the announcements of Halloween. Behaviour Community Manager, Katie Fleming informed us that the Rogue Trader Store was switching from weekly updates to bi-weekly updates, so that the production team could buckle down and focus on getting the first combat module ready for release. Most fansseem okay with that, given that the 10v10 module will give us some actual gameplay to test for ourselves. |

World of Warcraft: Largest Subreddit Shut Down Briefly as a Protest Posted: 16 Nov 2014 04:19 PM PST Over the weekend, the largest World of Warcraft subReddit was shut down temporarily by one of its moderators. The shutdown was seen as a way to protest the recent server woes that World of Warcraft has been undergoing since the launch of the Warlords of Draenor expansion last week. Once this particular editor was able to log into WoW, the subReddit was reopened but the backlash against his decision has been a phenomenon all its own. |

As the final sword falls, and last shot rings out, quelling the final miscreant... the menacing visage of the Gate of Time rends reality asunder and throws its doors wide open. Finally, through the archway the heroes march and all cast their weary gazes upon the Fahrmann's Peak; home to the beloved character Ara and to Elsword's horrifying new Raid Boss, Drabaki. |
Guild Wars 2: Getting A Handle On The Grind Posted: 16 Nov 2014 02:22 PM PST When I first got wind of how gear acquisition in Guild Wars 2 would work, I loved it. As it was described to me in an interview, the best statistical gear could be obtained relatively quickly and easily, and anything beyond that would just be cosmetic. I thought this sounded great and I totally bought into the "no grind" philosophy espoused in interviews and the Manifesto. |

General: The 5 Worst MMO Launches Posted: 16 Nov 2014 09:09 AM PST MMO launches are one of the trickiest things in the world for a developer and publisher to orchestrate. In the case of single player games, the experience can be perfectly balanced and simulated in a controlled environment. For standard multiplayer games, you can easily cap the number of players involved and know how it's going to turn out in a live scenario. A Massively Multiplayer Game on the other hand, is something else entirely. |
