Transformers Universe: Two New Decepticons Join the Fray Posted: 20 Aug 2014 08:09 AM PDT Jagex has announced the arrival of two new bots in Transformers Universe. Blade wielding Macro is joined by counterpart Decepticon and very stealthy Firebreaker. According to Jagex, the game will continue to see new Transformers added over time that expand the game's diversity and the dynamics of battle. |
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen: Taking a Big Step Forward By Week's End (Hopefully!) Posted: 18 Aug 2014 05:17 PM PDT Brad McQuaid and the Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen team have posted that we will be seeing a significant step forward in the game's development by the week's end. To tease fans about what they might expect, the team released a trio of new screenshots to show off newly polished locations within the game. |
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Galactic Strongholds Early Access Begins Posted: 19 Aug 2014 04:58 PM PDT The first wave of Star Wars: The Old Republic players can now enjoy the benefits of hearth and home thanks to the arrival of the early access program for the latest update, Galactic Strongholds. Not only will players have their own place to call home, but guilds will have a Stronghold or can purchase a Flagship in which to gather. |
General: Extra Life: A Calling Above and Beyond Games Posted: 19 Aug 2014 02:42 AM PDT The notion of leaving the industry for something even better or more fulfilling can scarcely be imagined by most of us, but it does happen. Rick Heaton, aka Sapience, recently left his position as Community Manager for Lord of the Rings Online to join the Extra Life gaming charity as their first Community Manager. He was at SOE Live last weekend as part of Extra Life's efforts to raise awareness for their work. |

World of Warcraft: Addressing the Criticism Posted: 17 Aug 2014 05:46 PM PDT Since its announcement in November last year, World of Warcraft's latest expansion has come under a fair share of criticism. Have players been left waiting too long for new content? Does Blizzard's MMO still hold up after ten years at the top? Can it still hope to bring in new players as it once did? |
General: Space Engineers - Inside an Interstellar Sandbox Posted: 19 Aug 2014 12:45 PM PDT On the Space Engineers website, a faux Wikipedia entry dated 2077 states: "A space engineer is a professional practitioner who uses scientific knowledge...to solve practical problems in space." As a game description, it's pretty dry. It's also fairly accurate for what Space Engineers, a new sandbox game in development by Keen Software House, feels like thus far. |
World of Warcraft: It Continues to Surprise Us Year After Year Posted: 17 Aug 2014 05:20 PM PDT "I don't know how Blizzard does it every time, but they do it every time," said GameSpot's Chris Watters after the cinematic for Warlords of Draenor premiered at the Ace Theatre. The emphasis Watters had in that statement resonated with more than a thousand attendees who watched with bated breath as the event took place. Blizzard's cinematics have always been state-of-the-art examples to the premium quality this company strives to achieve for each of their games. |
General: Coming Our Way From Korea Posted: 17 Aug 2014 05:03 PM PDT While it's arguably not as difficult as it once was, staying reasonably informed as to what's happening in the Korean MMOG development industry remains far from easy. As a result, few western observers are truly up to date. I'm not. However, I've recently spent some time trying to catch up a bit. So, here are some thoughts on a trio of projects that seem positioned to raise their visibility on this side of the globe over the coming months. |
Hellgate: New Steam Greenlight Campaign Begins Posted: 19 Aug 2014 08:11 AM PDT Redbana Corp. has started a Steam Greenlight campaign for Hellgate that will see the game relisted on the game portal including the Tokyo expansion. Hellgate was taken over by Redbana after Namco ceased operations in 2009. According to the Steam information, the title will, if successful in Greenlight, as Hellgate Global. |
