WildStar: The Strain Has Infected Me Posted: 18 Jun 2014 05:43 AM PDT One of the best parts of the MMO-side of our E3 was getting a sneak preview of WildStar's upcoming first content patch: The Strain. Led on a walkthrough by Carbine's own Jeremy Gaffney, we toured the all new zone of Blighthaven, the new five man public dungeon of The Nursery, and got a look at some of the all snazzy looking new Strain-infected gear you'll be able to nab. WildStar: Carbine Introduces Players to The Strain Posted: 16 Jun 2014 05:06 PM PDT As part of Carbine's promise to release meaningful content on a monthly basis, the team is proud to introduce the first major WildStar update. Called "The Strain", the patch will feature a new zone, new solo content, new gear, housing items, costumes and mounts and some existing areas will be overhauled. |

Firefall: On Demand Narrative Content Outlined Posted: 16 Jun 2014 05:13 PM PDT The latest "Path to Launch" has been published on the Firefall site. This particular issue is the first in a series that will introduce players and fans to new core systems being implemented into the game. In it, the team describes how players will be able to access "ARES Jobs", aka personalized narrative content "on demand", when arriving in a new zone due to the somewhat sporadic nature of dynamic content and ARES missions. |

Black Gold Online: Early Access Character Creation Announced Posted: 17 Jun 2014 01:36 PM PDT Snail Games has announced that players preparing to play in the Black Gold Online open beta scheduled to commence on Friday, June 20th can now head to the official site to begin the character creation process. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt: E3 2014 - Seeing What the Buzz is All About Posted: 17 Jun 2014 06:48 AM PDT Earlier this week I told everyone that one of my favorite things about E3 is discovering the little gems that are hovering just under my radar that I usually get to see on the last day of the convention. For the record this year my favorite such game was Pillars of Eternity. But as much as I love that little game nothing can compete with what I consider my personal game of show, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt. |
General: Lichdom E3 2014 Preview Posted: 15 Jun 2014 08:58 PM PDT Another game we took a look at during E3 was Xaviant's Lichdom, a FPS/RPG hybrid, that immediately struck us as a spiritual successor to the old-school games Heretic and Hexen. Developers have really created, what they refer to as a "titanium cannon" as opposed to the glass-cannon role that most games pigeon-hole mages into. The result is a character that feels extremely potent, wielding both offensive and defensive magics as he wades into the fray. |
Fearless Fantasy: Headed to Mobile Devices This Summer Posted: 17 Jun 2014 10:01 AM PDT |
Star Citizen: Flight Model & Input Controls Explained Posted: 17 Jun 2014 09:56 AM PDT Star Citizen: Arena Commander has been out for a couple of weeks and the development team has been avidly keeping track of user comments and criticisms. Two of the most common issues tracked by the team are the flight model and the input controls. In a special "From the Chairman" blog, Chris Roberts takes time to discuss the design decisions made by the team, including how they affect Arena Commander and the larger game at release. |
