Dragon Age: Inquisition: Thoughts on Inqusition and Mass Effect 4 Posted: 09 Jun 2014 10:13 PM PDT We were present at today's EA Press Conference for E3 2014, and thankfully were not disappointed in the RPG department. Both Dragon Age: Inquisition and Mass Effect 4 got some new info dumps. We also learned that BioWare is hard at work on a brand new IP, but nothing else about that was said. Read on for our impressions of the Inquisition gameplay and the ME4 news. |

Mass Effect 4: New Worlds, New Characters to Fall in Love With Posted: 09 Jun 2014 01:38 PM PDT "We think fans of the series are going to be surprised at just how far we're going." Bioware has revealed a new video that shows off some very early conceptual footage of Mass Effect 4, a game that will take off without the legendary Commander Shepard. In addition, Bioware reveals a very small chunk of its completely new IP in development. The video is part of the EA E3 stream event. |

General: MMO Marketing - Why the Community is More Important than Ever Posted: 08 Jun 2014 01:09 PM PDT Last week, Goblinworks' Ryan Dancey released plans for the upcoming Pathfinder Online alpha test. Given the game's debt to its Kickstarter backers, involving the community isn't a surprise, but the degree of transparent design and the alpha's lack of an NDA shows both an openness to feedback and suggestion and confidence in the project. It's also a really great example of the greater influence of community input on MMO design and marketing. |

Star Citizen: Chris Roberts Hates the Media Posted: 08 Jun 2014 12:59 PM PDT Well, he moderately dislikes us, I guess. I had to exaggerate a bit, because that's what we media people do. According to Chris, we whip out sensationalist headlines to generate a little drama around our articles. To be fair to him, we do to some extent, but folks like him are there loading our ammo for us. |

WildStar: Game On #46 - Interview with Jeremy Gaffney Posted: 09 Jun 2014 09:10 AM PDT Chris and Jessica sit down with Jeremy Gaffney, Executive Producer for Carbine Studios, the developers of WildStar. Together they talk about the game's launch and reception so far, the vision behind "hardcore" raids (and hardcore housing), and why new players shouldn't be afraid of the telegraph combat system. Jeremy also gives a few hints about what we can expect in the next content patch. |
Guild Wars 2: Why Season 2 is Going to Rock! Posted: 08 Jun 2014 01:21 PM PDT ArenaNet has put a lot of time and effort into making Guild Wars 2 the most unique MMO possible. Even after its launch, they continue to try new things. Their biggest attempt being the Living Story. It certainly added to the experience, but like anything new, it had it's faults. And like any group of gamers, we let the developers know about those faults on the forums, social media, and in game. |
