Dark Souls II: PC Version 'Weeks, Not Months" After Consoles

In an interview with DigitalSpy.com, producer Takeshi Miyazoe has reconfirmed Namco Bandai's hope that the PC version of Dark Souls II will be out within "weeks, not months" of the console release. Miyazoe indicated that extra time for the PC version is needed to fine tune specific features like resolution and key mapping. Namco Bandai has acknowledged that the original Dark Souls' port to PC was somewhat "rocky".

The Destiny site has been updated with a new developer post to detail the personal transport vehicle, the Shrike. The Shrike resembles a motorcycle without wheels, similar in style to the speeder used in Star Wars movies.

Golden Age of Dimensions Dawns

The Rift v2.6, "Dream Weaver" update is now live across all servers. The update brings the new Dream Weaver profession into the game, a profession that allows crafters to make Dimension-specific items. Dimensions are Rift's version of housing. In addition, the Valentine's themed "Love-Bug" event has also rolled out.

The Rhode Island State House of Representatives has pass a bill that will stop the ability for more lawsuits to be filed against Curt Schilling et al with regard to the default on a loan granted by the state. Under the terms of the bill, defendants and co-defendants would be shielded from further prosecution that would ostensibly encourage the settlement of existing litigation. A similar bill passed by the RI Senate, with the bill now moving to the governor for approval.

Gamasutra is reporting that Turbine has entered another round of lay offs at the Warner Bros. Interactive owned and operated games studio. There is no indication which teams were affected, specifically whether or not Lord of the Rings Online development staff has been let go. According to the report, Gamasutra is reaching out to Warner Bros. for more specific information.

Last week, the press was finally given an opportunity to weigh in on The Elder Scrolls Online with a torrent of previews that flooded the interwebs. The response was decidedly mixed overall, but personally, I can say I'm a fan of what I've played so far. Even after putting in time for my previews, I played quite a bit more of ESO over this past weekend and I found myself consistently surprised at all the little things that added up to make an experience I was already enjoying even better.
