WildStar: Focused on Customization Posted: 29 Jan 2014 01:09 AM PST It's been a while since I've seen an AAA MMO put as much emphasis on player customization as Carbine Studios is with WildStar. Released just this morning, the latest DevSpeak video focuses squarely on the myriad ways Carbine will emphasize customization in their game. As a "fussypants" myself, I have to say I was genuinely excited by what I saw. We recently had an opportunity to discuss most of what was shown in the video in greater detail, so let's get right to it. |
The Secret World: Funcom Under Investigation for Stock Irregularities Posted: 29 Jan 2014 05:32 AM PST According to multiple sources, including Norwegian government sources, the Oslo offices of Funcom, developers of Age of Conan and the Secret World, are currently being raided by local police as part of an investigation into possible stock market irregularities during, or slightly before, the launch of The Secret World in the summer of 2012. |
General: Paper Sorcerer Now Available on Multiple Platforms Posted: 29 Jan 2014 03:54 AM PST Ultra Runaway Games has sent word that its multi-platform single player RPG, Paper Sorcerer, is now available for PC, Mac and Linux with iOS and Android versions to come a bit later. Paper Sorcerer was developed after a successful KickStarter campaign and has recently been "Greenlit" on the Steam gaming platform. |

General: 2013's Free to Play Top 10 Posted: 26 Jan 2014 04:41 PM PST Research company SuperData recently released a list of the top 10 F2P games based on their estimated worldwide revenue last year. Not surprisingly, the top position was occupied by CrossFire, which is said to have brought in a cool $957 million. Depending on how this figure was sourced, is it possible that the MMO shooter from SmileGate and Tencent may actually have surpassed the $1 billion mark? |
