As talk of impeachment is dominating the news and Trump is firing off unhinged tweets at a frighteningly rapid pace, it seems the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee can no longer resist the urge to publicly comment on politics.
On Monday morning — after Trump tweeted 13 times in the span of three hours — Clinton tweeted the following at her 25.5 million followers: "The president is a corrupt human tornado."
TL;DR: This 65-inch LG OLED 4K smart TV is on sale for only $1,469 on the Dell website. It's normally $3,297, so you'll be saving a total of $1,828.
If nothing else, last week's Emmy Awards gave everyone a chance to find out which TV shows they should havebeen watching instead of getting caught up in reruns on Netflix. (I can't be the only person who binged both seasons of Fleabag in a single evening after seeing Phoebe Waller-Bridge clean up at the Microsoft Theater, right?)
Well, whether you plan on catching up on last year's top shows or diving headfirst into the new fall TV season, just know that a 4K OLED TV will take your viewing experience to the next level with crisp details and vivid contrast between darks and lights. Read more...
TL;DR: The portable Foreo Luna go brush is a must-have in any busy person's skincare routine, and it's on sale for $59.40 on Amazon — a savings of $39.60.
Our skin lives for summer — lazy days by the pool don't require any foundation. But as we go back to a more caked-up makeup routine as the tan wears off, that golden hour glow seems to get harder to reach.
You can't prevent the dry air or frigid temperatures, but you can control how they affect your skin. A deep cleaning facial brush is a must over irritating makeup wipes (and way better for the environment, BTW).
The Foreo Luna go is the portable version of the best-selling Luna 2 — just smaller and perfect for taking everywhere you go (goodbye, nights of accidecanlly sleeping in your makeup.) It retails for $99 at Foreo's site, but you can save a whopping 40% and get it for $59.95 on Amazon. Read more...
Your workspace can seriously affect productivity levels. You might not consider its impact, but your computer monitor is center stage on your desk — a screen cluttered with icons and open tabs could have a negative influence on your work.
If that resonates with you, it’s time to get a better monitor. The Dell UltraSharp 34-inch curved USB-C monitor is a great place to start, and it's currently $300 off. (Plus, it comes with a $100 dell gift card.)
This monitor is a good size and its curved nature makes it incredibly immersive by improving your field of view, reducing reflections, and creating near-uniform visual focus. You don’t have to move your eyes as much, meaning you can work comfortably for longer. Eye strain? Not in this house. Read more...
TL;DR: The Alexa-compatible Echo Voice Remote gives you a "plan B" for when you don't feel like shouting at your smart speaker — grab one for $10 off on Amazon.
Picture this: It’s bedtime. “Alexa, turn the lights off,” you shout into the next room, begging for the sweet release of sleep. But you get no response. Ignored yet again. Defeat has never had such a bitter taste. Now, you have unravel yourself from your comforter and walk over to your smart speaker to plead with it so you can finally rest your weary head.
Sounds like a bad situation, doesn’t it? Ensure it doesn’t happen to you with the Alexa Voice Remote — it’ll only set you back $19.99 and will gain you a “plan B” for every smart speaker mishap. Read more...
Donald Trump apparently believes that his removal from office could hurt America as badly as the Civil War.
On Sunday night, the president tweeted a very long quote that Southern Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress said during an interview with Fox and Friends.
“If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal,” Trump tweeted, adding his own parenthetical to the direct quote.
....rid of Donald J. Trump - And the Democrats don’t care if they burn down and destroy this nation in the process. I have never seen the Evangelical Christians more angry over any issue than this attempt to illegitimately remove this President from office, overturn the 2016....
If you've ever worked at a store that keeps TV screens running when the store is closed, then you've probably envisioned this nightmare scenario.
The promotional screens for an Asics store in Auckland, New Zealand was hacked at some point in the wee hours of Sunday morning and displayed porn for all passersby to, uh, enjoy.
One witness told the New Zealand Herald that the video ran for a few hours Sunday morning. Another witness, however, said the video had been running from 1 a.m. until 10 a.m., when employees showed up for work. That's nine hours total.
The store manager issued an apology, claiming the screens were hacked but not by a current employee. He told the Herald, "Screens were immediately turned off to the units immediately when they turned up for work on Sunday. Clearly this is an embarrassing situation, and Asics has apologized through our website and also by email to our customer database." Read more...

In a country pub tucked in a corner of the Cotswold Hills in the middle of England, 433 men with the same first name gathered for an unusual celebration. There were no cults involved. No politics, either, for that matter. This was Nigel Night — a night of celebration for the Nigels of the world.
Nigels from up and down the country travelled to join the festivities. One Nigel flew in from Cyprus, and another Nigel crowdfunded his plane ticket from Texas, U.S. so he could be among his Nigel kinsfolk. One Nigel even received a marriage proposal on stage at Nigel Night.
"You'll need to speak to Nigel," said a voice on the telephone when I called The Fleece Inn, Bretforton, Worcestershire. Nigel Smith is the landlord of The Fleece and the mastermind behind the plan to assemble Nigels from across the land. When I spoke to Nigel, he told me that the night — which took place on Sept. 28 — started off as "a slightly mad idea." Read more...

Welcome to Fat Bear Week 2019! Katmai National Park's bears spent the summer gorging on 4,500-calorie salmon, and they've transformed into rotund giants, some over 1,000 pounds. The park is holding its annual playoff-like competition for the fattest of the fat bears (you can vote online between Oct. 2 and Oct. 8), and Mashable will be following the ursine activity.
Yet, at the conclusion of Fat Bear Week, there must be a single champion. The annual online competition, while certainly fun, is a valuable way for us to appreciate the perseverance of wild animals that still live wild lives in Alaska's untrammeled, undeveloped (for now, anyway) wilderness, a land teeming with wolverines, lynx, salmon, and bald eagles. Submitted for approval of the Midnight Society: Our story begins in a darkened Vancouver warehouse. Fog pours in, illuminated by eerie blue shafts of light escaping from the basement below. A ring master's stage lies at the end of the vast expanse, embroiled in flames. A girl runs past, dressed all in white, terror in her eyes.
This is what it's like behind the scenes of the Are You Afraid of the Dark reboot.
For those who grew up on the original '90s run of Are You Afraid of the Dark, some of those stories remain still seared into our brains decades later: Skeletons jumping out of pools, getting trapped in a mirror, losing your ability to speak in a haunted library, a grinning monster that distorts your face forever. Apple is planning to launch a high-end iPad and a MacBook somewhere between late 2020 and mid-2021, a new report claims.
According to reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), these new devices will have a new type of advanced display called Mini LED. We've seen something similar in Apple's Pro Display XDR (which still isn't available for purchase), but that device only has 576 LEDs, while these new iPads and MacBooks will have around 10,000 LEDs, Kuo claims.
Mini LED is one of several display technologies, alongside OLED and Micro LED, looking to become the new standard for consumer electronics. OLED is great but still suffers from burn-in problems; Micro LED is potentially the most advanced tech but is still in its infancy, and Mini LED offers image quality similar to OLED but doesn't suffer from burn in, and allows for thinner and lighter product design. Unlike the super serious teaser, the full trailer for The King's Man wants you to know that this is still a comedy, OK?
The origin-story prequel for the Kingsman series — they've split the original film's name into two separate words, just so it's not confusing! — gives fans a better peek at Rhys Ifans (aka Spike from Notting Hill) as Rasputin, as Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton and Djimon Hounsou fight "tyrants and criminal masterminds" in the midst of World War I. The trailer also boasts a snarling soundtrack thanks to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" and Fiennes trying to convince his team to try this newfangled thing called a parachute. Read more...
A Sunday report from the New York Times lays bare a chilling statistic regarding the role social media platforms can play in facilitating child sexual abuse and the spread of child pornography online.
Of the 18.4 million reports of child sexual abuse worldwide in 2018, a staggering 12 million trace back to Facebook Messenger. That's according to "people familiar with the reports." Although it's only one facet of a much more widespread problem, the outsize role played by Messenger is hard to overlook.
Even more troubling is the fact that efforts in the tech space to protect users could only worsen the situation. Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg wrote at length back in March about the company's plans to create a more secure platform, and it's a process that includes encrypting private content on the site. Being alive today can feel like an exercise in surviving constant chaos. Everything is happening all the time, and feeling overwhelmed by existence has become our generation's unfortunate norm. In the best of all possible worlds, this is the point at which a hero emerges — an icon who encapsulates the lawless rage that simmers beneath the surface of the populace and whose actions release the tension felt by all in the face of increasingly dire circumstances.
Our hero has emerged. That hero is goose.
Untitled Goose Game was developed by Australian game studio House House and released on Nintendo Switch, MacOS, and PC Sept. 20, and even though the game's runtime is relatively short, its horrible goose protagonist has captured the deliciously chaotic heart of the internet. We can always count on Robert De Niro to drop some F-bombs on live television.
The actorappeared on CNN's Reliable Sources Sunday morning to discuss backlash he's received from Fox News for speaking out against Donald Trump. (In particular, the network took issue with his iconic "Fuck Trump" moment at the 2018 Tonys.)
De Niro did not seem particularly affected by the criticism. "Fuck 'em," he said, referring to Fox News. "Fuck 'em."
—@BrianStelter asks Robert De Niro about criticism he gets from Fox for speaking out against Trump.
"Fuck em," De Niro replies. "Fuck em."
Stelter reminds him, "This is cable, so it's not an FCC violation, but it is still a Sunday morning." pic.twitter.com/9IOo1VvXCM
Actress Ruby Rose revealed on Thursday that she underwent emergency surgery earlier in 2019 after a stunt injury left her at risk of paralysis.
The Batwoman star discussed her experience in an Instagram post, which also included a graphic video of the surgery itself. (We don't recommend watching if you're squeamish, but it is pretty metal.)
"To everyone asking about my new Pez dispenser scar on my neck... A couple of months ago I was told I needed an emergency surgery or I was risking becoming paralyzed... I had herniated two discs doing stunts, and they were close to severing my spinal chord [sic]," she wrote. Read more...
SpaceX's much-heralded Starship reveal on Saturday night was undone somewhat by the fact that it's hard to maintain secrecy with a 165-foot vehicle.
The Elon Musk-hosted evening presentation in Boca Chica, Texas gave viewers on the ground and watching from home via the livestream an update on the long-in-development spacecraft. The SpaceX Starship is a reusable vehicle capable of carrying both passengers and cargo beyond Earth's orbit and out into our solar system.
Musk has describedit as a "multiplanetary" transport that "will allow us to inhabit other worlds. Nevermind the fact that SpaceX hasn't actually launched a crewed ship into space at this point, as NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine pointedly made clear in a statement on Friday. Read more...
